How Can I Get The Pedal Viking Hardtail Mountain Bike from 99 Bikes for a Decreased Price?

I can get the 10% off gift cards from Target. But is there any other way to decrease the price through gift cards and other stuff. I don't have AmEx. I do plan on becoming a member for 99 Bikes.

If not already - become a 99 Bikes member for their discount…??

I've bought many bikes from stores. However, the best deals I ever got were from independent stores, not franchise/chain stores. My first great saving was some 40% off RRP from an independent store where the big chains were only (at most) 10% off.

This was pre-covid, but I asked how the independent could get the bike so cheap, and the response was because they didn't have one on the 'floor'. They simply ordered it in, put on a few hundred extra on the wholesale price and out it goes. There's no holding cost etc for them. I bought my next two bikes from them that way.

    • I do intend on becoming a member. I probably should have mentioned that in the description.

Have you checked the 2nd hand market? Post Covid people haven’t touched their bikes

I have however Im new to biking, so I can't know if the 2nd bike Im going to buy is in good quality or not

Well the new bike you are looking at buying isn't good quality, so you shouldn't be too worried.

  • Use the Discount Code from 99Bikkies WELCOME99 and get on yer bike…

Does it have to be this exact bike? You could maybe get something similar from another supplier for less that has the same or similar specs. At this end of the range, bikes are bikes and they are all pretty much the same.

Get on Scamtree or Fartbook Sharketplace and just buy a near new, slightly used one.

  • 99 Bikes pricing is whacky, it could be half the price in a month. Expand the number of models you're looking at and wait for a decent sale

    Put options.

  • That bike looks almost identical to the Anaconda Fluid Daytona+ which is $599 (if you can find stock):
    https://www.anacondastores.com/cycling/bikes/mountain-bikes/…
The Pedal bike says 130mm travel whereas the Fluid says 120mm. Otherwise they look like the same bike

  • ou probably can't get below the club price but maybe the sales person will throw in some accessories like a bidon, spare tube, decent lock, etc. A good lock will cost a fair bit.

    • For free? Or part of a bundle?

      • maybe for free, maybe for a discount.

When we bought our GIANT Talon we got 10% off RRP, a free helmet and a free bidon cage and bidon

        • That’s easier to get in a smaller bike shop. Big chains less likely to give much discount as their bikes are typically already priced low and they’re less likely to care if you come back or not.

          • @Euphemistic: bought my Giant Talon from the Sydney CBD store. It's not a smaller bike shop.

We did shop around and the smaller shops were quite unwilling to negotiate.
