Pro vs ultra vs zenfone 9 many hmms much wows such decide

    • +3

I went with the Ultra in the end. Bigger display, more RAM, more battery, faster charging, Qi wireless charging and USB-C with video out to name a few. 200MP camera is a gimmick but the cameras overall seem to perform well. I can always sideload Gcam if it's too shit.

I think I'm after small form factor with battery life. More so a travel phone for when i'm in asia. Zenfone 9 i think wins for me. Buy time STONKS

        • +1

That was my thinking too originally. I went instore and just didn't quite like the smaller phone. Plus others have reported the camera is weak without Gcam, especially if you want to use Google Photos.

I already use a 6.7" Motorola so going 6.67" makes no difference.

          • @Clear: I hope the next Samsung's are lighter and slim. After the Note 10 pro, everything was downhill for me :(

          • @Clear: I must agree with you, it’s weird AF holding a phone that small after using say an iP14PM or GS23U. That’s why I chose to give the ZenFone 9 a miss (as difficult as it was).

Does Motorola allow you to unlock the bootloader?

mods might let this stay since I posted the price after Perks

  • Would it be better to get Google Pixel instead of Motorola series?

    • +2

That depends on what matters to you most.
Some prefer stock Android and guaranteed updates with the Pixel. Others prefer bang for buck with better specs and don’t care as much about updates because they’ve probably moved on to a different phone in 2 years.

      • +1

Bang for the buck is the most enticing for OZBargainers.

If you care about the camera and fewer OS issues then go with Pixel.
If you care about the CPU power and battery life then go with Motorolla.

Also, having owned both, the screen feels more sharp in Motorolla.

      • and fewer OS issues then go with Pixel

        Is that really the case?

I went a Pixel 3a XL and with the OS issues decided to go back to Moto G's again after that. The OS was a (profanity) mess of frustrating bugs (mostly with Bluetooth audio when the screen was off, and going non-responsive for several seconds at a time, particularly when the phone was ringing (often led to missed calls as a result).

      • What if care for them all?

remember to get it for $474 using perks $20 off

    • Can also stack with 6% off JB gift cards to lbring down further

  • Bought the Edge Ultra yesterday in-store for $679, the perks voucher expired the day before but they honoured it as they still had the promo sign up. This is seriously a lot phone for $680. The included 125W charger easily charges even my laptop!
