Recommendation for Installers to Replace Ducted Gas Heater with Reverse Cycle AC/Heating (Melb SE)

Hi all, can anyone suggest a good installer to replace an old under-floor ducted gas heater with reverse-cycle AC?

Looking for someone who services Melbourne SE. Also if you have a definite "would not recommend" story that would be good too :)

Cheers

I used DnB Plumbing for my system, highly recommend the guy

I don’t recommend Plum Heating and Cooling. Still blaming Covid for not servicing my area, even though they installed the system. Yet they continue to email me reminding me that my system is due for a service (no shit)

  • Thanks!
Did you do a reverse cycle for gas heater replacement?

    • I did actually

Plum Heating installed a Brivis system a few years ago, but now won’t service it. So I’ve been using DnB

just wait few more months, a government program is about to kick in where you will get it heavily discounted.

    • Is this the VEEC program? Is that not already up and running?

      • it is running, but not many products are yet registered, might as well wait until they become listed for a better choice

I used Peninsula Heating Cooling and Electrical just the other month and would recommend.

    • Thanks!

    • I think they are the ones my brother likes as well.

There's a company in SE Melbourne that does sub-standard work yet has hundreds of 5 stars reviews. Any 1 star reviews are promptly removed so they either pay or threaten the reviewer to take it down. PM me for the name.

I used MacPherson Electrical and AC. He's based on the peninsula, did 4x units for $2000 cash around 2 years ago. 3 were fairly easy, back-to-back. The 4th was trickier and tubing had to cross the garage. Install only, the old wall furnace I removed myself. No complaints thus far.

  • I'm looking to get this done soon too (but in Preston), how did you go? Are they able to reuse the old under floor vents? I haven's seen any reverse cycle systems using floor vents.
What'd it set you back? Did you have to do anything to get the VEEC rebate?
