Smashing tablet, picked it up for $249 from JBHiFi two weeks ago.

It replaced an aging iPad Air2 and is a great upgrade for a bargain price.

The 2k IPS screen and Quad speakers with Dolby Atmos are the standout features.

The ZAAM0081AU comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6nm SOC.

Still on Android 12 but the older release Mediatek SOC models have had OTA upgrades to Android 13. This should get an upgrade pretty soon.

MicroSD card and 3.5mm earphone connector are great additions.

      But 4gb ram?

      • +3

It's not supposed to be a laptop. Just don't use it for gaming. Screen probably not good enough for gaming anyway. I have one and for occasional video calls and reading magazines, browsing etc it's great

      • +4

We use it for media consumption and it is great.

For sub $250 I doubt you will get a better tablet brandnew with local warranty.

      • +6

Same amount of RAM as a 10th gen iPad

        • +4

But android memory usage is super inefficient!!!

      • +3

I think it's enough. When I work using a 4GB ram tablet in splitscreen mode it can handle two applications just fine. It can do one video, one word processing and one music app at the same time while i type on a bluetooth connected keyboard.

        But $235?

    • +4

My wife's got a update to Android 13 last week

      • +1

Is your tablet the ZAAM0081AU version with 128GB storage and the Qualcomm Snapdragon chip?

    • +6

I've had this tablet for about 4 months. It got Android 13 a few weeks ago.

      From Amazon AU, 128GB.

    • -1

I'd never expect an update from Lenovo on an Android tablet, so wouldn't buy one from them again. Had a couple in the past that were basically out of date as soon as I opened the box. Have they improved in the last couple of years?

Their Duet Chromebooks though get upgraded by Google every month, so I have no hesitation recommending them as an alternative

      • This model is guaranteed an upgrade to Android 13 and security updates until 2025

    • This come with a screen protector pre applied?

  • Can anyone comment on this vs Blackview Tab 11 Gaming Tablet 8GB+128GB? Both are around $220 on ebay.

    • I don't have it but on previous deals people have commented that it is good. 8GB of RAM is amazing.

I steered clear because I prefer local warranty and like the guaranteed security updates from the Lenovo.

I recently bought the blackview when shopback had some increased cashback. Ended up getting it for about $155. It's closer to $200 now if you use the Sept15 code. I would still recommend it at that price range.

I can't comment on the Lenovo, but things i really like about the blackview include dual SIM support, screen is clear and bright, comes with a case in the box, plastic screen protector is pre installed, battery life is good enough for me to get through a day with 4G use most of the day. It runs all the media apps smoothly. I can even use it to remote log in to windows PCs with RD client, and it works very smoothly. Also, you may see reviews saying it's not widevine L1, but that has been resolved and i can confirm my tablet is widevine L1.

Obviously there are drawbacks at this price point. It charges slowly. No band 28, but I'm not sure i see much of an impact on 4g performance. Android 11 only and unlikely to get any updates.

Can't have it all at this price point. You just need to decide what's important to you.

    good enough to watch netflix/youtube?

    • +5

      And then some

    • Yes, it's amazing for the price.

  • +7

agree with the comments.. the case use here is for entertainment. It's a bit sluggish overall but if you're mostly just selecting a show to watch or streaming the screen and sound etc. is perfect for the price.

I'm happy to back this seller too.. bought this 12pm one day and it arrived 1pm the next day (metro melb). Solid.

  • was this the one they were selling at Aldi on clearance for $99 or another one?

    • That was the regular model. This is the plus

      • +1

        Thanks

        bigger screen and specs?

  • +8

Got this couple of days ago with JBhi fi and perks combo posted here.
The screen is just too good for the price point. The built quality and finish is nice. Doesn't feel like a 230$ product.
I don't play games on tablet/phones and just use it for media and Kindle reading (tablet has reading mode too)

  • Anyone know how this emulates retro games? Really only want to go up to ps1 at most. So anything under that is all i need. I've got a miyoo mini plus but over having a 3.5 inch screen. :)

  • allPhones I didn't even think those guys were still around lol good to see there still alive and kicking.

  • Does anyone know if these are any good for whiteboarding sessions online using zoom etc?

    • It will handle it but I wouldn’t use this tab for professional use. Lag & business don’t go well together.

  • +1

Anybody knows the difference between ZAAM0081AU and TB128FU?

    • +2

They are the same, bought ours from JBHiFi on the box is said ZAAM0081AU but when checking "about tablet" in systems info it comes up as Model TB128FU.

I think the model TB128FU is sold in Australia as ZAAM0081AU.

      • +1

Bought mine from jb too and says both at the back of the box and on system info TB128FU, all good though great tablet for the price no issues whatsoever, heard android 13 isn’t well optimised so happy to stay with 12

  • Are there any similar tablets to this (with decent screens) around the price point, but with wireless charging? Would be much neater for an install where it spends most of its time on the wall.

  • +1

Thanks! just grabbed a few for christmas pressies.

    • +3

      baller alert

  • +1

Has anyone found a good case/stand for this? I plan to use it to watch YouTube in the kitchen while cooking.

    • +1

I got the official Lenovo folio case on sale at JBHiFi for $14.99, looks like it is back upto regular price of $44.99 which is too much in my opinion.

      It's a great case for $14.99.

  • Good tablet for the price, only thing that really bother me is the latency when moving things / scrolling. Prob less than 500ms, but still quite noticeable

  • Hi all, does anyone know if you can you use this one as a second monitor for a surface laptop? Thanks

  • Thank you just purchased.

  • Looking at buying. Can anyone confirm that this model has the Qualcomm chipset. A lot of reviews mention the Mediatek chipset for this model.

  • Would you not buy ASUS Vivobook Flip 14 over this? Pay a bit more $100 proper laptop/tablet 2 in 1 refurbished

Much better for kids in primary school then just android tablet

  • Darn it I was supposed to get this but it looks sold out!

    • I went in to JB to check this out - they had the display one only left, they wanted to get rid of it, got them down to $150 - very happy. So far so good.

  • Received the tablet today, it's TB128FU, the Qualcomm one.

The box appeared resealed, and the tablet inside as well. It had dust on it, and the warranty says 14 months gone. Even if the warranty was 12 months, it shouldn't say 10 months left.

    Anyone else see the same?
