That's decent. Considering the technology changes every year, your burning money spending anymore on a phone

    • +5

Agree… our life is now being hijacked by technology giants…. We are hypnotized by technology fuelling our addiction to technology…. spending a large sum on phones..

It's been around this price range for a while on and off, just under 500.

The single sim has been this price often, not always the double

4800mAh battery with 68W wired, 15W wireless and 5W wireless power sharing

I'll note that while Motorola mentions that the Global version is supposed to ship with a 68W charger, the AU Motorola site and the listing on the Good Guys site lists a 30W adapter, like the US version.

I checked a couple other countries specs and they're shipping with the 68W adapter, so whelp.

I mention this because it's 0-85% in 30 minutes with the larger adapter, which is pretty decent. (Yes yes, long-term battery health may suffer)

I bought this phone in January, lightly used on eBay, for $450. I'm very happy with it. I got the Android 13 update in April. It is a really great phone.
The screen colours are not quite as good as my old Mi 9T, but the SDG1 CPU is a massive upgrade over my old phone, the 8GB RAM is appreciated too. The camera got some bad comments in initial reviews, but software updates to the noise correction algorithm (delivered through google play) and the updates to the camera app (comes through OS updates) have have fixed those complaints, the camera is surprisingly good now, even in low light, it has OIS and it has very good macro capability too.

    • Thanks for the review, I'm still using the awesome Xiaomi Mi 9T that I bought from this deal. Not a heavy user, so it still works great & the camera is very good.

      • +1

I bought my Mi 9T directly from Xiaomi AliExpress store from China, only a couple of days after launch. I probably paid too much for it. I used it for 3 years, before upgrading to the Motorolla.

  • This or POCO F5 pro? It is about the same price if I get POCO f5 pro at overseas. But not sure if it is tax deductible for work if with a foreign receipt.

    • Depends what you're after, they both have pretty similar specs but the Moto is cheaper (from what I could find on AliE vs the Poco).

For the Poco it's recommended to pop a custom rom on it, at the very least the Xiaomi.eu rom (it's just the same MIUI but debloated/optimised better), Moto is a better "out of the box" phone.

One more thing to note is that the Poco will likely be supported for longer both officially and through custom roms.

      • Thanks. I think i messed up. Should have been F5 not F5 pro. Does sounds like edge 30 pro is a better buy, even though people complain about its processor.

        • Yeah at this price it's much better over the regular F5.

I heard the 8+ Gen 1 was a bit harsh on battery life but still pretty powerful. Not sure how it fares on this phone though but a 4800mAh battery should be a decent amount to get you by.

Would this be a big step up from a Galaxy Note 10+?

  • i bought this for 599 on it's first sale at JB. It was a gift for someone else but I had to set it up and it's really a spectacular phone for the money.

Just bought one from Preston. They have one left in stock.

  • How does this compare to the S23 plus. My main concern is around camera

    • +1

I'd be more worried about the very short future of it with security updates. An easily hackable phone is such a bad idea
