Everyday Reward Points or Qantas FF Points?

So I’ve always earned the Everyday Reward Points and then get $10 off once I’ve received 2000 points. However after reading this Finder article they suggested it’s better to receive the Qantas FF Points!

Has anyone done the calculations to work out which one is better?

Ps I do collect QFF to use on overseas flights so if it’s even slightly better I’d rather those points.

It depends what you value QFF points at. If it's 1 cent per point, its effectively the same as $10 that you would've got off your next shop.

    • Yeah okay, I’ve read articles saying average is about 1 cent. As you probably know it depends on how you use it. I believe if you do seat upgrades, it’s worth more than that but if you use points to book a flight, I think it’s worth worth less, is that correct?

Point Hacks® values a QFF point at 1.8c but I've always done somewhat better on international flight award redemptions.

Use this article for reference. Personally I always convert to qff. Recently booked Sydney to Taipei return in Business for 150k points. Cash fare was around $5k aud, so ended up being around 3.2c per point. Even with economy flights, I find the redemption rate is always more than 1c per point.

        • Oh that’s great, I haven’t seen that one. Thanks for that. I’m going to change over to Qantas frequent flyer points now. Thanks for your help.
