It says $200 all over the store but when I go to checkout it actually turns out to be a $350 bonus.

My S21+ Ultra ($360 trade in + $350 bonus) brings the 256GB version down to $444 for me at checkout.
I picked a random $5 turn in (Galaxy S7 or Galaxy Watch Active 2) and it still gets the $350 bonus for $799 at checkout.

Can confirm. The trade-in bonus for the fold5 is also $450.

  • Only a little over one month from its release date and already 30% off?

      • +3

When compared to apple suddenly becomes value.

    • +3

its Samsung successful marketing strategy i.e. a phone that should originally be priced at this level, is priced at around $2,000 level at launch and then offer these type of deals to make us all believe we are getting a good deal 😅

    gimmick

  • +2

Wasn't this already posted a few days ago with higher trade in bonuses?

    • I think it was the regular site and not education site.

Edit: it was education site but main deal was Fold 5.

I have a daily iPhone 13 Pro Max (love it) and a flip 3. Honestly the flip is the first phone in years that gave me that special wow feeling. Nearly 2 years on and issues or screen, battery easily lasts to end of day and I use it for work even now almost 2 years later.

Tried the fold but a bit big for me, similar to the iPhone weight wise so found it too much for both. Would consider if it was dual sim (not eSIM).

Anyway, flip and folds are great phones, android so good these days.

    • Great to hear that you're enjoying it! How do you find the crease in the screen? Does it bother you / is it visible? Looking at getting one myself!

      • Honestly non factor for the user. Might notice if looking at someone’s screen heavy side on. For me I’m short with normal hands (5’10) so my thumb is barely making it to the crease anyway. Can’t see it.

The joy from the new tech far outweighs any inconsequential crease.

        • +1

Actual 5'10" is not short. Source: Someone much shorter :)

  • Yes was posted a few days ago as well:

The HN deal was ATL, I only paid $844.69 all up for the flip5 512gb https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/790390

    • You forgot to add the 24 months plan cost or the early termination cost to it.

      • +1

That's already included. The phone cost was $0, early termination costs was $828. Just had to deal with the hassle of signing up a contract in store and cancelling afterwards.

  • Is there an easy way to obtain a .edu.au email account?

    • some unis offer it to alumni

  • I am logged in to education store, I see only 20% discount

  • Hey samsung, give me a deal on fold 5 <$1k and take my s23

Went from the brick S22 Ultra to a Flip 5 and its been great. Forgot how good it is to carry a smaller, lighter phone around and to not have to take it out of my pocket everytime I sit down! Only downside so far is battery life…not as good as the ultra but still get a day out of it

  • $259 upfront on a $69 plan for 24 months at Gerry atm

Works out to be cheaper if you’re in it for cancelling it immediately

    $259 + ETC cost ($828) = $1087

    • trade in generic buds for $350 tradein bonus. cant be beat.

  • Same prices on Westpac site for those who don’t have edu account

  • This was posted the other day. Ordered a flip 5 and fold 5. delivery tomorrow

  • Sweet, $803.3 for a Flip 5 256GB

    • breakdown?

      • $1649 - discount $494.7 - trade in $350 - $1 = $803.3

  • +1

Cant beat preorder offer when I paid $700 trading in my flip 3, in return I got a 512gb flip 5 and a galaxy watch 5 pro.

    • +3

But you paid a lot for your Flip3 2 years ago

  • Forgot to mention this on the Fold5 ozbargain deal, but if you just happen to have a .gov.au email instead of a .edu.au email, you can still get this through the Australian Government Samsung Store.

  • +2

Thanks, just bought this by going through the Westpac Rewards, $803.30 for the 256GB Flip with trade-in voucher.

  • Fold 5 price with Fold 3 trade-in is $899 (256GB)

    So tempting!!

In case useful to anyone: I was enjoying my Flip 4 for two months before accidentally dropping it on its hinge on carpet, albeit at work so not plush (I'm a bit rough with my phone's admittedly). The screen is busted with it separating from the body and the opening mechanism is a bit wonky. All the internals are working fine as I plugged it into an external display and mouse and everything was functioning just fine. Apparently not worth repairing.

Every other phone of mine would've taken that same hit without any issues so just something to consider. I really wonder if I could still trade it in in one of these Samsung trade-up dealios?

I really hope the Flip 5 hinge is stronger. Perhaps another thing to do is go with a case that covers the hinge more instead of the Samsung Silicone Ring Case I was using.

  • Anyone can help, loyalty discount is $100 or 10% off?

    • +1

Does not work for edu store

  • Do loyalty team provide any further discount codes that can be stacked up on top of this?

    • +2

      Not for the edu store.

  • Has anyone received delivery? Got an "on its way" email but no tracking number and Samsung chat is no help.

    • Received "on its way" email last night and got the parcel this morning. No tracking either. Melbourne CBD fyi.

  • Not sure why this deal is marked expired. It is still available

  • Anyone knows when sending back the trade in phone to Samsung asurion, so I need to include the cable? Thanks

    • +1

Historically I haven't sent anything other than the phone itself.

      • Got it, thank you!

  • Can't believe with a trade in of an old $5 phone (Samsung S7) with the bonus $350 credit, it brings this all down to $799.30 for an online yellow in 256gb. Blue sold out. No other colours available in 256gb.

  • No more bonus credit?! :(

    • Yeah just tried it as well… no more I guess :(

  • Was too lazy to log in and comment earlier.

Thanks, I got it on the last day of the deal!

The website was glitching or something and the 256 GB was not showing as cheap as it should've been so I went with the 512 GB.

Worked out well since there's no external SD slot on the phone.

    Really quick delivery!

    • Stacked it with $350 trade in bonus as per RichardL's comment
