        I was thinking that too, wondering whether I should hold for the cheaper prices or the newer models… not sure which I want more. PS5 Pro might be worth it to me, especially considering how reliable these machines are.

  And also would a wannabe middle-aged newbie gamer (say flight sim/sports/platform games more than FPS/RPG) be better off with this, an Xbox or PC?

    Flight Sim is only on PC and Xbox. I'm not as tuned into current gen's games but it seems like sports games have always been available cross platform. To me, it ultimately comes down to price and platform exclusives. I personally feel like the PS5 exclusives appeal to me more and it's certainly cheaper and easier to get into than a gaming PC.

    Researching and building a new PC can roll into a hobby if ya need one atm. PC will also give a far superior visual experience, but it will cost a few time more than a console. For the best bang-for-buck return and to jump straight in without having to learn stuff, just grab a PS5 or Xbox.
