Suntory Boss Coffee 4-Pack: 2 for $21 ($2.63/Can) @ Woolworths

60

Suntory Boss Coffee with a special tag I saw at Woolworths in Burwood Plaza, NSW.

The deal:
Purchase 2 of any 4pack of Suntory Boss Coffee 237ml cans for $21, equates to about $2.63/can. Flavour includes:

  • Iced Latte
  • Iced Vanilla Latte
  • Iced Long Black

The verdict:
Fairly reasonable, since these go for $3.50/can on special at woolworths.

Didn't realise this stuff was so expensive. Do people really drink this stuff here? Surely there are cheaper options.

I'm not totally knocking this stuff. I probably drank quite a bit of this stuff 15 years ago, but it was ¥100.

They had an interview with some suit from the company and he said Australians still view iced coffee as a luxury drink for why it was way more expensive than Japan/Asia. When SA is the only place in the world where iced coffee outsells Coke and it is still a top seller everywhere else. So he was flat out lying and they just gouge all they can and people keep buying and sales go up. More Australians need to be on OzBargain and stop taking it from behind from all these companies.

Was in Japan last month. You can still buy these for ¥100 at some vending machines.

Yeah I looked up a recent video on youtube and saw that they were still 100 yen.

  • How much coffee/caffeine is actually in these? The ingredients just say ‘coffee powder/extract’

It’s hard to justify these when they are basically 50c in Japan.

Tried it a couple of times and can't see how it's better than the other off-the-shelf iced coffees in the supermarket (Dare / Ice Break / Oak / etc..,), given the cost vs quantity and the quality (subjective).

I too wouldn't buy ice coffee at this price, but you know your "off-the-shelf iced coffees in the supermarket (Dare / Ice Break / Oak / etc.." are actually just flavoured milk NOT iced coffee? Dare had in their ingredients "coffee powder 0.38%", Ice Break "coffee 1%" and Oak "coffee 0.5%". I am lactose intolerance, I'll be fine drinking Boss coffee but any of the coffee flavoured milk you listed will get me trapped in toilet for at least few hours.

Had a few free ones from 7-eleven and a few from Coles when they were on clearance for 20¢ a can, no way I’d pay $21 for 8 cans.

    Too expensive

  • nah…

Yea nah, only for Aussies feeling that post Japan trip nostalgia.

This tastes no better than mixing a good Instant coffee together with milk

  • Love this stuff!!!
$19:80 for 8 cans was the deal in my local Woolies.
