Other products also at solid prices.

I got Officeworks to price beat by 5% on the bridge and the 2m strip below, both for $133.

Philips Hue Lightstrip Plus Base V4 2 metre: $81 (RRP $149): https://www.smartspaces.optus.com.au/smart-devices/smart-lig…

Thx to comments for Amazon and Bunnings same price. Bunnings stock was limited in Melbourne South Eastern Suburbs for me when shopping around.

PSA - it seems Phillips has changed their TOS forcing users to sign up to an online account(and harvest your data)

It may not matter to you but FYI

Seems dumb you need an online account to control your lights

    • if we disable internet access to the hue bridge via the router, does this solve the issues somewhat?

You worried about Russian hackers accessing your lights?

    • Doesn't stop the lights still working when internet is down

  • Does anyone have links to the Amazon at that price for the light strip? Or do I have to request a price match?

I use Google products, so have pretty much said goodbye to privacy, but those using Philips Hue may want to read the following article regarding upcoming changes to their policy on user data:

Philips Hue will force users to upload their data to Hue cloud

Ha, looks like @cheapdoodau beat me to it.

    • Have there been any workarounds, hacks etc.?

Sorry, mate, I'm the wrong person to ask about Philips Hue.

There are home automation groups on Reddit, so I'd start there, if I were you.

You can connect hue lights to 3rd party zigbee gear and use with home assistant I’ve read.

        • Thanks to both of you, I'll keep an eye out.
Originally went with Hue to make set up and operation simple but now it looks like it's more trouble than it's worth.

  • Phillips have altered the deal.
Pray they don't alter it any further.

Thanks for posting. Picked up a Colour Ambiance 1100 for $59 which is good price and final one I need for new pendants.

I stupidly ordered the 1600 on Officeworks sale however they are too long for most pendant lights.
