  • That's half the price of tesla mobile connector.

It isn't comparing like for like though. Tesla UMC can do 32A (7kW) [an optional 'tail' needs to be purchased though], and UMC has the release button (albeit this button only applicable to Tesla vehicles).
Also keep in mind that the Tesla UMC comes with both 10A and 15A GPO connectors, whereas the one being posted here only has 15A connection.
UMC cable length 6m, vs INCHARGEx 5m
Not saying at all that the INCHARGEx isn't a good price, just don't want people to assume that only the brand name is different.

  • Anything for 10A model? My house doesn’t have 15A GPO

  • Looks a good price if works well compared to the tesla mobile connector.
I suspect functionality will not be as good as the Tesla mobile connector in use - ie with the Tesla connector can program when to start charge and can limit charge etc, but haven't tried one to know.

    • Hi, the charger has adjustable current for a slower charge (if needed) and also has delay timer function for convenience. Hope this helps.

Doesn't the car software control charging (for Teslas)? The car can limit the amperage it accepts. It can also choose start and stop times, independent of this GPO charger.

This allows a manual limit so your tesla doesn’t gobble down more than the circuit can deliver (and trip the protection switch)

        • Yes - but this is a 15A limited cable, that goes into a 15A limited GPO. The Tesla will be limited by the 15A available. It can't draw down more than what the cable can give.

The home circuit is another matter. Hopefully the circuit breaker would match. And hopefully the owner hasn't loaded the same circuit with a heater + dryer + fridge etc etc.

@dangerdanger: The person above requested a 10A version. Mention of the ability to limit the amps was in ref to a need for a cable to suit a 10A outlet.

            • @0jay: ? This thread goes back to pencilman, not iamkuza

              • @dangerdanger: Ok, iamkuza’s post is above if I’m not mistaken but either way OP writes (in response to pencilman) the cable has the ability to limit current (if needed) which is easily extrapolated to mean you can limit current if you have a reason to, ie if you only have a 10A outlet for eg.

  • I heard BYD seagull will be cheaper EV. any news when it will arrive in Australia?

    • Not planned to come to Australia.

      • Damn, heard that will be under $20k 😔

        • Most chinese car are selling double here than what they sell in their chinese market. As they say "good things happen for those who wait".

An chinese onslaught will be coming to Australia in the next 3 years. Nio, Xpeng, Aion, JAC, GAC , Zeekr , Radar etc. By then EV should be standarised to be V2g compatible in 2025

          • @ChickenAdobo: Looks like EV cars will become like android phones market

            • @hopper: More choices the better. It will lead to cheaper price EV overall.

Thanks, got two. Now need to find a good deal to buy Tesla or Polestar EVs to use with the chargers.
