If you are asking for advice, post in the forums, and say what you want it for! Peopel are not psychic. On your desk, or daily travel? etc

The 2.5k screen version was a bargain: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/709564
    This seems ordinary.

Always check the Lenovo website when shopping for a budget laptop, they almost always have some ripper deals under the sale category for laptops.
This looks good but there's definitely some solid alternatives there currently.

5700U is a fairly old processor (based on Zen 2 from 2020 despite the name), performance and battery may not be as good as current offerings. seems ok for the price tho

something like this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/803206 seems better value unless you really need the convertible functionality

My 4800u still runs like a dream.

  • Think once more and buy a used ThinkPad for no more than $250. Use it as a car ramp. If it is broken return it, but it will not.

I have the same/similar model, bought for $829 almost a year ago: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/739374

It's a good laptop, the keyboard is nice, great battery life and quite powerful. The only downsides would be the poor chassis quality, as it's plastic that scratches easily. In addition, no thunderbolt port (only usbc charging or data) means it loses out on some functionality.

All in all, good product for the price I paid when I paid it. I would not buy it at $1199 now, instead I would opt for this model: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/803206

    • Arrrhhh. Was just about to return and swap over to the HP..but just worked out NO USB-C charge.
That's why I'm swapping out my current lappy.
      USB-C is a must have.
      Dam. So close…
