last gen, not sure how good is this chasis..

    • Watched a couple reviews on it and seems to be a solidly built chassis made from aluminium with a good keyboard.

$300 price drop after 6 months

Check the comments from that deal and also the second deal

Good specs but pricing should be closer to $1.8K by now

I got one of these from a previous deal, and this is an overall good gaming laptop; however, I can't recommend it due to a few issues.

    Good things:

    • The chassis is very rigid, and the machine is solidly built, even more so than Razer Blade laptops, which is unusual to say.
    • It offers great performance; however, the fans can be quite loud (louder than average). More details below.
    • Great Cherry MX low-profile mechanical keyboard and large trackpad.
    • Great QHD+ 240 Hz screen.
    • Excellent warranty service and follow-up.

    Not so great things:

    • To achieve the best performance, the laptop needs to be set to Extreme mode, which results in very loud fans.
    • Balanced mode is actually more of a lower performance setting, as there's a significant performance gap between Balanced and Extreme.
    • The laptop is quite wide due to the integrated Stream Deck, making it challenging to fit into most bags.
    • I had an issue where the fan modes disappeared from iCUE, and the laptop had to be replaced under warranty. Corsair assessed the device and determined it to be a hardware issue. This might be a one-off issue with my unit though.
    • This is a first-gen product, and it shows; it lacks refinement that can be seen, for example, in a Legion 7 or Razer Blade.
    • For a second there I thought it comes with a detachable steam deck!
