Great price….have the 1855DBs and tempted to get this for computer…

  • Hope the black version will be the same price, not fan of brown version.

  • Any opinion on sound ?

    Or comparison with Jamo DS4?
    thanks

  • do you need to connect physical wires to each other?

    • Yes

  • what is the difference between 1010 and 1280

  • from memory no surcharge on afterpay if you use that

  • How long are the cables?

    • Between the speakers? I think mine was 2m

    • +1

About 1.5 m but it's just generic speaker wire, you can extend or replace it with just about any wire you have lying around.

    Review for anyone interested https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/edifier-r1010bt-powered-blu…

Does not come or support remote commands if that matters to some

    • wow .. that was a really good review I'll check out that website in the future.

As for the speakers, it was the expected result … ie not amazing sound but great value for money.

    • Interesting read. Sounds like the sound quality is not great but still better than the price implies.

  • These were the same price last month. They are great as a small powered speaker. Buttons at the back are a bit awkward.

I connected the speakers through the headphones jack of an old (1970s) NAD receiver and surprisingly they work very well! I didn't think powered speakers would work with an amplified signal but after reading an old review on these speakers which explains the two inputs on the back and how they successfully accommodate an audio signal I had to give it a try. Glad I did.

Thanks, I was thinking to get creative pebble v3, but the lack of 3.5mm is a big deal.
Decide to pick this up for everyday office speaker.

I'm enjoying a pair of Edifiers, but the lack of bass is just annoying the hell out of me. Anybody have recommendations for sub woofers to pair with R1700BTs? and how difficult the set up is.. Shoulda just got a set of Logitechs that comes with one looking back..
