  • Anker soundcore boost. Way better for the price or the motion boom.

    • Yeah looks good. It's even IPX7 water proof. The Sony is only water resistant.

      • +1

Anker is selling it direct for $70 with free delivery on ebay.

That second picture; no one is getting in the mood with that ugly box.

      • +1

This Sony is IP67 which is the same water resistance as the anker but includes dust resistance

        • IP = ingress protection.
1st number = level of dust protection
2nd number = level of water protection.
IPX7 = no specified dust protection (X=unknown), Level 7 for water protection = 1m waterproof submerged for 30min.
IP67 = Level 6 for dust protection (dust tight for 8 hours based on specific test airflow), Level 7 for water protection.

Weird for IPX7 that they would test it for water but not dust. Surely if water can't get in easily, then neither would dust?

    • Bought one on the launch date from AliExpress this and it developed a rattle inside the speaker which made loud audio distort. chucked in the bin after about 7 or 8 months. hopefully my unit a faulty product.

  • Looking for easy to operate speaker for old people, must have sdcard access so they can play songs from it without need Bluetooth thingies

    • Like this one?. It has a micro sd card slot for music playback to act as an MP3 player. Avantree Boombyte.

      https://www.amazon.com.au/Avantree-Boombyte-Portable-Bluetoo…

It's also a bluetooth speaker but can run as an MP3 player through the micro sd card slot. You must only have to press the MODE button to switch mode to MP3 playback. It's got the usual seek and play/pause buttons. Track number selection buttons. And volume adjustment control knob.

It looks like it uses a USB-C port for power so make sure to budget in a USB-C power adapter and cable too because it doesn't come with that.

It sounds like a good little speaker. It might be just what you need.

      • Hi yes like that thanks. Will think about it as a bit over my budget but the cheap ones doesn't have shuffle feature usually.

  • Reviews are average around sound quality, went to replace e a flip 4 with this, then read the reviews and decided against it
