BlackBerry® PlayBook™ OS 2.0 16GB $179.00 at MLN

40

Blackberry playbook, seems decent enough for the price, depending on your needs. I know my old man would be more than happy with this. It now has mail and calendar (it didn't before?!). And it has flash. You can also use your blackberry phone as a keyboard and mouse.

Physical stores only in melbourne, but also online.

  • Have Blackberry actually sold any of these ?

    • Not sure, but for the price they now should, I just read that they sell for $129.00 or so in Canada WITH a leather case!(according to jonk (http://www.techradar.com/reviews/pc-mac/tablets/blackberry-p…)) how good is that? Hey!

      • I've yet to see anyone with one in the wild…

          Most playbook owners have a JV detector app, we avoid you!

  • So, how to get data in or out of this device? Is there, eg, any:

    1. USB connection?

    2. removable microSDram chip with Windows-compatible format (eg, for netbook with a card-reader)?

    3. way to connect this device - eg, via BlueTooth - to a Windows-based PC?

    TIA

    • 1) Yes, just like most phones micro usb
      2) no
      3) yes

      • Thanks, Mikinoz

  • I believe that there are some folks who have installed ICS on these and it seems to work. That is not a recommendation though …

      Link or it didnt happen

  • Problem with this pricepoint is that the Nexus 7 is a better device in every respect but for internal memory and is not all that much more money.

  • I recently bought an Ainol Fire 7 16GB and i think its better than this cause:
    * $150AUD for the tablet + $28 AUD for a Sandisk Ultra 32GB MicroSD
    * 1280x800 screen
    * potentially equivalent CPU and RAM

    This will prob have better build quality but to be honest the Ainol Fire 7 feels solid and the screen is just beautiful and sharp.

    • Whilst spec wise its comparable, otherwise its in a different class.

      Also if the ainol is still running in a years time i will eat my playbook, which is still running like day one.
