  • would these be good for whisky on the rocks?

    • Personally, I prefer my whisky on a heavy base and slim wall. Compared this feels flimsy and bloated to enjoy whisky in.

Agreed. These break easily with fat hands washing. Just ask my Dad and a very unimpressed Mum 😬🤦‍♀️

      • Any recommendations?

good if you want to keep beer cold, i have similar from kmart and they are great though fragile, at 350 ml will take 330 ml.

Had a full set of these years ago and progressed through the lot with the most minor of bumps resulting in spectacular glass cascades. They're hand-wash only unless something has changed and do nothing to enhance spirits, coffees and teas beyond their insulation. I'd say their insulation solves a non-existent problem as coffee and teas reveal more flavour notes as they cool and if you are a sipper these are nothing to a vacuum thermos.
For spirits and espressos we now use Neat competition spirits glasses-more expensive than these, but offering significant improvement in aroma and quickly allowing me to drink at my desired espresso temperature. For milk coffees and tea we just use basic mugs couples tend to accrue over the years from friends and acquaintances.

Don’t recommend the Bodum double wall glass. Picked up a set from Costco when they had it on sale. Less than 12 months and the silicone seal on the bottom of the glass has started leaking.

The Maxwell and Williams ones are better. They don’t have the hole in the bottom with the silicone seal. They are fully sealed so no chance of leaking. Amazon had them for $15 a set of 2.

    • That's weird, the old ones I had never had that seal, doesn't serve any purpose but assume they have done it as part of the construction process. Should be moulded as one piece. I also preferred the shape of my old ones, kind of had a lip at the top.

      PS. Currently unavailable.

    • ps. The ones i had (still got one) were actually delonghi double walled glasses - prefer those to be honest, 270mL is the perfect size for coffee.

(~$23 for two with ebay plus voucher), don't need 6.
or Goodguys Ebay $14 (with $5 off voucher c&c)

Have always put mine in dishwasher with no issues.

    • For how many years?
Yeah the description says Microwave Safe, Dishwasher Safe but I'd generally hand have wash perhaps.

End up breaking one eventually anyway.

      • I've had them for about 3 years and at least a couple are used daily.

The dishwasher cycle itself is fine, just potentially a problem if someone in your house is rough with the dishwasher drawer or stacks other things hard up against the glasses.

  • Very fragile. Just don't put it on any rough hard surface or touch it too hard with any metal.

  • If players like Catch can offer the same thing for $48 then this is hardly a bargain.

    • Yes they've been a bit cheaper, you'd need a catch membership though.

      • No you don’t. That’s their regular price. If you have a catch membership it’s $4 cheaper again.

Not buying them and not from there either.
Obviously people want the cheapest price.

  • 59.97 now

  • These are pretty big.
I have smaller size glasses, love them, ~ 220ml or something in that size range cant remember exactly, which are perfect for my morning coffee.
