  • FWIW You also get one or two $50 Qantas Wine vouchers as well

I just hit points club plus again for another year - note it adds an extra year (not just from the date you hit it, but from whatever your Qantas anniversary date is) - so mine lasts to sometime in 2025 now

    • And the vouchers arrive after the anniversary date I believe? I’m on my second year and in the first I got my vouchers as soon as qualified but been told in subsequent years you have to wait till anniversary?

      • I don't find the qantas wine offers much good with the min. spend on the vouchers. Maybe if you can stack it on a good promo

    • On your second year of PCP did you receive the benefits of PC as well as PCP, ie a $50 wine and $50 hotel for PC, and then 2x $50 wine and $100 hotel for PCP? Or just the PCP benefits? On the first year I received both set of benefits, but not on the years retained at PCP.

Long running? Is always available believe.

      Didnt see it posted anywhere

      • +15

        because it's not a deal

  • +7

    Not a bargain.

It's easier to just be the PMs son …

    • +1

I thought anyone in the Chairman's Lounge could nominate one other? At least that's what Christopher Pyne said on Insiders.

  • +7

    How is this a deal?

    • +8

      It ain't a deal 🤔

    • How is a new movie on netflix /amazon a deal?

      • +3

        They aren't either

      • +5

They aren't either, but at least they can claim something has changed. This has been the standard conditions for points club since it was established a few years ago.

        • -6

So why didnt you post it as a deal

          • +5

@easternculture: The same reason I wouldn't post this as a deal or any other standard offer. IT IS NOT A DEAL.

            • @gromit: You sure have a long list of reasons why not to post a deal

    • +2

its not. standard price of admission.

    • It's not a deal.

  • +2

Same as this expired deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/524999

  • +6

Is it a deal if it's a standard part of their loyalty program? Should I make a post about how if you take enough Qantas flights, you'll get a free ticket with accrued points?

Also limited value from an awareness point of view, Qantas communicate it very clearly once you reach each threshold.

  • +8

This deal is the equivalent of posting "Earn 2,000 Everyday Rewards points and get $10 off your next shop"?

    • +1

      Good heads up thanks.
      I'm off to Woolies

  • also 350k per year = points plus = qantas club with unlimited entries. their system is atrocious however I met the requirements months ago and they had to spend 45min on the phone calling back and forth to get it activated when I turned up at the lounge. the only good thing about QFF is you gain status on points redemptions

  • +4

    This is always available….

and it's not even a deal. It's just a feature of their loyalty program.

Lots of loyalty programs have interesting features. These features are not 'deals'. (A way to earn points cheaply might be a deal, but this isn't what this post is about).

Maybe this post isn’t for you. There is a deal for $3 peanut butter that might suit you better.

      • Maybe this post isn’t for you. There is a deal for $3 peanut butter that might suit you better.

Did you mean to say "Maybe this deal isn't for you." ?

Oh wait, you didn't say tha because this post isn't a deal.

  • Thanks @easternculture used $50 wine voucher that was going to expire this month :)

  • +1

was points club plus for 2 years, hotel and wine vouchers are handy and i did get to use QANTAS club a few times. Personally, wasn't worth accruing so many points i struggled to use without status. I did not attain this period in fact only earned 15,000 points as i have too many and better to focus on Velocity and Kris flyer where i can actually get the reward flights i want.

    • On your second year of PCP did you receive the benefits of PC as well as PCP, ie a $50 wine and $50 hotel for PC, and then 2x $50 wine and $100 hotel for PCP? Or just the PCP benefits?

      • i recall only receiving $100 worth of vouchers for wine and hotel

        • Yeah same in second year, although in first year got both set of benefits…

  • +5

This isn't a deal and is part of the standard service. It's like suggesting that the occasional $10 off with Everyday rewards is a bargain.

    Also it's Qantas lol

  • +3

Not a bargain, not a deal. Just part of the regular scheme.

  • +2

I wouldn't say this is a deal, more an automatic perk.

  • One of the benefits is Accor fast track to Silver.

Be aware Accor DO NOT honour this benefit.

So don't waste your time contacting them. They don't even extend the courtesy of replying.

    • Accor silver is pretty useless tbh, the late checkout is pretty much only available when they may give you late checkout anyway if you just ask without status. Accor plus also gives you silver where the free night more than pays for itself

  • Lol, associated or?

  • +3

Nice try Qantas, still not flying with you

  • Thanks, just logged on and didn't realise I had a $50 hotel voucher waiting for me, and $50 wine but don't think ill use it for now
    Thanks OP
