  • Have the prices on the website already been reduced?

$249 for Harman Kardon Soundsticks 3, is that reduced?

  • does this apply to sonos? or the sound bars?

    • Seriously doubt it covers Sonos

    • Very cheap. I work at JB and paid $350 about 4 weeks ago.

Well, the 20% off Portable Navigation is a lie. The Nuvi 50 is still $127.20 with the 20% off, which is/was its original price when the OzBargain Nuvi 50 $70/$82 deals where on.

Smells of false advertising to me.

JB have been pulling that sort of crap for ages now, hence why I haven't step foot in one for a year or two. Use to be one of my favourite stores but found this sort of practice, along with other things that I stopped bothering to.

How is it false advertising? It was on sale before it came down and it is 20% off its usual price. So they can offer a ridiculous price for a limited period of time, which was within the last 20% off sale which brought it down even further. JB definitely does not have a practice of jacking up prices before having a % off sale. It is just unfortunate that on some occasions a particular product's promotion may end before the % off sale begins.

        • Oh they don't have a practice of jacking up prices before having a sale? Wow.. So the countless comments on here in other 'JB Deals' and in many, many threads on Whirlpool must all just be a big conspiracy by people to discredit JB?

Oh please… JB are no different to Myer or HN nowadays. They're no longer the 'little guy' offering great prices and a nice place to browse for a few hours. All they care about is sucking as much money as they can out of you, whacking on a big 'SALE' sign on things and trying to convince us we're getting a genuine saving.

I wouldnt trust whirlpool members if my life depended on it. Have they actually supplied evidence to prove this? or its just hearsay?

  • Pitty this doesn't apply to AV receivers only home theatre packages (av receiver + speaker bundles).

  • Hey guys, I'm looking to upgrade my 7.1 (really only 5.1) Samsung HTIB to something with a lot more bass. The passive sub just isn't up to the hard hitting base you're meant to hear (machine gun shots and helicopter blades etc). My lounge is about the size of a large room, 4m x 4m and I'm wondering which one of these to get, the Yamaha YHT698AUB - http://www.jbhifi.com.au/home-theatre/yamaha/600-watt-5-1-ch… or the Wharfedale IXOS - http://www.jbhifi.com.au/jb-hi-fi-home-audio/speakers/wharfe…

The Wharfedale seems a lot cheaper but doesn't appear to come with a receiver? Any help or suggestions appreciated.

    • The wharfedale are speakers only, but the sub in that system is really good, hard hitting and packs a decent punch. The yamaha kit is pretty decent the amp is basic, yet has a decent feature list, the sub is a bit smaller but is still externally powered, should be more then enough for a 4x4 room.

      • So if I were to pair up an amp with the Wharfedale speakers, it would hit even harder than the Yammy kit? If so then I wouldn't mind getting an amp separately. We are big movie fans (don't listen to music/audio at all) and want to get as much solid bass as we can!

        • Bass wise, yes. remember the Yamaha kit is a full kit ready to go, comes with all the cabling, reciever etc, where the Wharfdale are just speakers, you will need to add a reciever, speaker cables, 1-2 RCA leads to sub and connection from tv to receiver (or depending on what model, HDMI)

I have those Wharfedale speakers. Bought them when they were on sale last time. They sound good at least to me. If you are an audiophile then you may want to read this whirlpool thread started by me http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1910060

  • Would this pioneer vsx522 work ok with the wharfedale speakers? http://www.jbhifi.com.au/jb-hi-fi-home-audio/receiver/pionee…
