Kmart Homemaker Capsule Coffee Machine $69

40

I think this is the similar one DSE is selling for $129 with Milk Frother which can take Nesspresso capsules.

The Milk Frother looks very like the ALDI one and according to people review the DSE's machine they are all very happy with it.

Kmart did it for $89 sometime ago.

  • Anyone knows if you can use aldi expressi pods on these units ? Nespresso pods are very expensive.

    • No, they are different pods. Anyone I know who has tried both, have returned the Aldi one. They have told me if you like instant, then you would be happy with the Aldi one. If you like proper coffee, the the extra cost of the Nespresso capsules is worth it.

      • I have the ALDI one and also tried Nespresso at their shop at Chatswood. My feeling is Nespresso is a lot stronger even with 6 and more like real coffee from cafe.

But I am not sure whether this machine will make the same coffee.

    • No, but there are Nespresso compatibles available at Coles / Woolies / Officeworks / IGA now for 50 - 60 cents each:

  • personally spend the extra $10 and go for a better brand such as

    http://www.saecooutletshop.com.au/amodo-mio-extra-black.html

i know it's listed as a 'repack' but still a better option IMO

    • This takes the Mio pods (no Nespresso), so it will come down to the flavour preference. i believe people find the taste of the Mio pods better than the Aldi pods.

    • So I guess 'repack' one still have warranty?

    • This Saeco one looks good, any idea how much the postage within Melbourne might be?

  • Another option is the Kogan one and this has a built in Milk frothing wand. http://www.kogan.com/au/buy/ez-press-coffee-machine/

    • I have this one. Its a ripper little machine! got it second hand off ebay for $40!

That saeco one looks like a great buy, pitty about the pods. Nespresso all the way!

  • +1

Incidentally, you can check out more info about this machine here (I took a pic of the box last month):

  • dont they all make warm (not hot) coffee?

    • Our Aldi one makes bloody hot coffee. A lot hotter than we were expecting. Ouch…

  • I picked up a new Lavazzs Mio from myer for 120.
Pretty happy with it so far.

  • How is the HN one? does it take ALDI capsules?
    http://www.harveynorman.com.au/homepage/map-presto-capsule-m…

    • I heard some peoples have it broken and returned several times.

  • Anyone got one of these. Does it have a milk frother

    • This one NO, you can see if from KMART page.

      The one from DSE. YES.

  • I must say, I have bought a knife set with the Homemaker brand…three washes (by hand) and it's rusted, handles come off etc. Junk - I won't neg this deal but rather get an ALDI or the Lavazza, worth saving yourself the frustration.

    • That's disappointing. I bought a $50 set of Homemaker hard anodised pots and pans about a month ago and they are ridiculously fantastic (no more $130 on sale Scanpans for me).

So I wouldn't write off the brand completely IMHO.

  • Hello… I have one of these. I've had it for a month and a half, and though I haven't owned it for long, I can say that it hasn't missed a beat. No leaks, no mis-punctures… loving it. $60 is an absolute bargain!

    • Did you use original pods from Nespresso or compatible as mentioned up there.

Nespresso compatibles available at Coles / Woolies / Officeworks / IGA now for 50 - 60 cents each:

      http://www.piazzadorolorespresso.com.au/

      http://www.espresso1882australia.com/

      • I used original Nespresso pods from the Nespresso shop. I haven't tried the compatible!

      • Well, my espresso machine broke down so I decided to try this machine out. I've been using the piazza capsure from coles and so far it works pretty well. Not bad for $65 after ING cashback.
