    What's the go with CSIRO lately. Do they get enough funding to do much meaningful research?

      CSIRO employee here

      It depends a lot of which part of csiro. AI and cybersecurity are pretty well funded, some other parts are a bit leaner.
      It ebbs and flows a bit with different governments amd priorities, but we punch above our weight across the board imo.

      Keep in mind only about 50% of csiro revenue is government funded, the rest comes from contract work, patent revenue, licensing agreements, etc
