I have the 15L and am very happy for the price.

    • The 15L GH2068 for $150 was a bloody steal. I love mine. I've got it running in my bedroom off the mains but I have also taken it in the car on a few trips running off the ciggy lighter, and it works a treat.

Just hope they will have a sale on the batteries soon. I want the 15.6ah one, but I am not paying $269 for it.

      • You're right I didn't check the link, price in title is wrong then $229?

        • Maybe they've updated the price after seeing jaycar's pricing. They're owned by the same people anyway so they're happy to pricematch each other.

          • @Heybargain: Yes they do price match but I found that Jaycar could only do $149.50 rather than $149. For some reason their system didn't allowed the $149 exact match.

        • Fixed.

  • Is Brass Monkey more reliable than a Kings? They seem to be within the same sort of price bracket.

To be fair, they're not an awesome fridge and their support after sales can be sub-par - I'd go the Kings, as they have a better support network, and if they fail, they just swap them over, no questions asked

I think I feel the same way. Kings seems to be a "bigger" brand.

Have had a large Brass Monkey in the garage for years and it has never missed a beat, and just picked up a 15L in the previous sale a few weeks ago. For the price and the 3 year warranty you can't beat them. Any issues Jaycar/RTM will swap over for a brand new one no dramas at all. LG compressor I believe. I'd buy a Brass Monkey over Kings.

      • +2

Yeah its like Bunnings Ozito - any issues and they swap it over for a newie.

  • Bought the 50L one last month, works as expected for the price. it is not LG compressor, and bit noisy when running. Also seems the insulation layer is not as good as home fridge, so it kept restarting and running about half of the time.

    • My thoughts exactly. Great for the price but I got what I paid for (and I'm happy with that)

I think the deal this time is the 60 litre for $274 but they can and have done better deals in the recent past.
C'mon Jaycar you can do better than this for Black Friday!

  • Can these be plugged into a standard home power port?

can it run 24/7 for a few weeks

Looking at getting this as a temporary fridge

    • +1

      Yes they can

      • Thanks for replying

        hmm are they noisy

        • +1

They are pretty quiet. Compressor will be off most of the time. It will kick in every now and then but I don't find it bothersome. I like having the 15L in my room for a few bottles of water/cans of softdrink, and put it in the car for day trips or when I go to the supermarket and don't want to rush back etc.

          • @nubzy: sounds good, thanks for responding again

  • Was so confused by the different versions and pricing, looks like this is the older model

I checked some of the others that looked slightly different but wasnt discounted as heavily, you could access the battery pretty easily for replacement and some on of them had a metal like lid

This one the battery is screwed in the side, dont think it would be easily accessible even if you took the screws out.

    I got the 50l for $249

Pretty happy with it so far
