HP Envy Spectre XT Ultrabook (4GB, 128GB SSD) $899 + Postage from ShoppingExpress 8PM Today

80

Received an "exclusive subscriber special" email from ShoppingExpress that they are having a sale on HP Envy Spectre XT Ultrabook today, starting from 8PM until midnight, for $899 (+postage). That's $250+ cheaper than the cheapest from StaticICE.

Product page on ShoppingExpress:

http://www.shoppingexpress.com.au/buy/hp-envy-spectre-xt-13-…

Specification:

  • Windows 7 Home Premium
  • Intel Core i5-3317U + Intel HD Graphics 4000
  • 4GB RAM
  • 128GB SSD
  • ~1.4kg

Big price drop in preparation of Windows 8 I guess. Asus Zenbook UX32VD from TheGoodGuys might still be a better buy though (high res screen), if you are looking for a cheap ultrabook with SSD.

  • Thanks scotty for sharing the post.
It is also good to point out that for just US $14.99, they have the choice upgrade to Windows 8 once it is released.

  • Review from The Verge:

    http://www.theverge.com/2012/9/26/3386438/hp-envy-spectre-xt…

    The good:
    - Trackpad/Keyboard (great if it's anything like the Folio)
    - Design (although very MacBook Air-ish)

    The bad:
    - Screen
    - Battery life

A little heavy for an ultrabook but I played with one at JB and it's a nice little unit. Like the keyboard and trackpad.

  • wasnt the harvey norman deal for the toshiba ultrabook z930 only $799, similar specs, much thinner and better build quality
