Coleman Instant up (Gold) 4P Camping Tent $349.00 (RRP $599.99) + Delivery ($0 to Select Areas/ in-Store) @ Tentworld

90

Not as good as the previous deal posted here but still way better than RRP!

If you're looking for something cheaper, the Silver series are on sale via Amazon AU

I have the 4P tent and am looking at upgrading when I saw this deal.

Important Note: This is the Gold series.

From the website:

Description:

The Coleman Instant Up 4P Gold Series Tent is your instant camping solution when accommodating up to 4 people. The secret in the 2 minute setup lies in the tent never coming off the telescopic poles! You can now enjoy spending more time in the outdoors with family or friends instead of trying to figure out how to set up the most integral part of your campsite - your tent!

The Gold series of tents from Coleman is a step up in quality without the weight and extra cost of a canvas tent. The materials selected include the fly being a polyester rip-stop that is rated to 3000mm water head rating. The wonderful advantage in using rip-stop prevents any puncture you may receive from tearing and is designed to last. Localising to a very small area makes repairs easy should it be required. The stitching is seam-sealed meaning that rain has trouble getting through!

Large doors and windows are used throughout allowing for great ventilation and having a separate protective mesh screen so you can sleep insect free in the warmer months! The awnings can be zipped down for added extra protection so that locking down this tent is made easy. For the comfort of all occupants, we recommend having four people while still leaving enough room for bags and any other items you do not want leaving out in the elements.

The flooring is of tough polyoxford PVC construction to protect you from the ground.

Transportation is also made easy as it packs down into its handy carry bag that will fit in the boot of your car or storing away!

To maximise your time in the outdoors and trouble free camping, get ready to move into your home away from home.

Please note : This model is compatible with the Coleman 4P Gold Series Evo Heat Shield Awning

They are really good fair weather tents, in my experience.
However, in a bit of wind they break easily, spare parts are (havent checked lately) hard to get (out of stock).
I have personally experienced, through myself and fellow campers, and seen many pancaked Coleman Instant Ups over the years.

    I loved them before that.
    Your mileage may vary.
Maybe they have improvedd over the years since I owned a couple.

    • mate, i am exactly in the same boat, needing to replace a pabcaked coleman tent.
Not wanting to revisit that problem, what would be a more windproof choice for a tent that sleeps 4-6 people and will be fairly well ventilated?
      Your advice would be appreciated!

      • You can check out the new Zempire Evo Air tent range. Otherwise, the Oztent RV range is probably the most solid, but it is bulky and heavy.

    • My Coleman instant-up completely buckled after 2nd use about 10 years ago. Though to be fair, the wind at the time was very strong.

The pole/frame mechanism was destroyed beyond repair. Had I tried to correct it/put the tent back up sooner, it may have been OK. It might have been the wind blowing it around in a half erected state that did the most damage.

But still, good fairweather tents as you say.

  • After Albo's announcement yesterday I think I might need to invest in my future, in which a tent may feature.

    • What have they done now?

I highly recommend purchasing these through Amazon. The warranty / replacement process is way smoother through them. I had my silver series replaced after wind tore an arm out of the join. Amazon picked up the old one and delivered a new one. From what I've read, dealing with Coleman or shops is a hassle and in my situation, it looks like wind damage isn't covered … even though they flex on marketing how wind resistant they are
