Bone conduction headphones, works great for people wanting to listen to music while still being able to hear environmental sounds. Personally love these and have bought them for the family and friends. You can try these out at JB HiFi to get a feel for what they're like as they aren't like normal in-ear headphones.

Prime sale with one-day delivery. Lowest price I've seen these? I bought mine for $154 in 2022 and 2023, so $148 is a great price.

Just bought one on ebay sydney mobiles, plus coupon CDEC17 makes it $138.51. Stacking with gc to save extra $ for a slurpee.

Second openrun model for myself because my first one was lost. It was awesome as I had ever had ear infection using earbuds alike. Bone conduction works perfectly for me.

    • Awesome price. Need to be an ebayPlus member though.

  • Can we swim with these?

    • +3

Nah bluetooth gets heavily distorted when you move from air to water/ different mediums, so you'll get a warbly mess or nothing at all.

Get the OpenSwim which is an MP3 player, if you want tunes to swim to. Modern interpretation of the iPod!

  • 9th January delivery for me 😔

Should I get the mini or standard

Maybe the Good Guys will price match. They gave me a decent discount after my puppy ate my first pair, and second pair .. then I leant to put them out of reach. They wouldn't take my puppy as a trade-in although I tried to give her away!

Is it worth buying the Pro version for $40+ more?
    Thanks

    • +3

Slightly better audio quality, slightly faster charging. Uses newer bone conduction tech. I'm also on the fence on whether to get the pro but I've beem incredibly happy with my normal openRuns.

I also have the OG aftershokz. Bone conduction headphones are awesome though haha.

another thing, ipx rating for pro model is less than openrun, I can take openrun in shower and be fine

  • Can you receive calls with this?

    • Yes you can and there is a dedicated button to answer the call on earphone which is very convenient.

    • Yeah, I use it everyday to pick up calls from mobile. Smart watch to show who is calling, then click the multi-function button once to pick up. Twice to hang up.

That same button is also used for multimedia. Once to play, once to stop. Twice to go next song, Three times to go previous song.

I've also used it for conference calls, while walking in windy weather, and my colleagues could hear me well enough. That's not bad haha.

Best headphones I have bought. I have the pro. Not for pure sound quality - just practicality, comfort etc when on the move or working out.in saying that, sound is pretty damned good and they go quite loud.

I often get back from a walk or run and if a playlist or podcast I was listening to has finished I will forget I'm even wearing them until I go to shower and they come off with my top, lol.

The times I've hopped into bed with them on still and only realised…. haha. Looks like we got similar experiences - these really are awesome headphones.

FTK15 for $15 off on the Shokz website.

    • Brings it down to $134. That's amazing value for the headphones! Thanks for sharing that code.

Thanks. I got the Open Run Pros for $175 as I lost my older pair a few days ago while on holidays.
Annoyingly I just popped into JB and saw them for $189 (without the $15 discount) but would have considered getting it there and then just so I had some BT headphones for the rest of my holidays (I also had $500 in JB gift vouchers to use up).
    Sorry but rant over. 😄
