Great pic of the Casio G-Shock DW9052GBX-1A4 It's meant to look like this.

    Well done Amazon.

I've seen it happen before, must be the intern who photocopies the image. Or their automatic image software has some weird bug. Better than the wrong item all together that happens lots too.

  • +2

Good price for the classic CasiOak

I think GShock watches are stupid and ugly, but Iā€™m weirdly tempted to buy one. I guess because I have a lifetime of practice at making stupid and ugly work

Why not spend a bit extra to get a smart watch?

    • +5

I don't own a smartwatch because I don't want to charge my watch on a daily basis. Also, the smartwatches don't look as good as regular watches.

    • +2

Because they look worse and are more of a pain in the rear.

    • +1

With my nato strap casio, I never have to take it off (except ofc situations where everyone has to remove watches).

    • It's a pain to have to recharge smart watches constantly. Perhaps I just have crap ones, but they're difficult to read in the sun.

As someone who loves casio watches this deal is like the scene in Gladiator where Marcus Aurelius offers Maximus the throne of the Roman Empire and Tusty turns to the emperor and says - "with all my heart, no." as I've already budgeted my spending money for my holidays! šŸ˜”šŸ’”
    Great deals though.

Every G-Shock nerd needs a GBD200 in their life

    • why is that?

      • Because it's like an upgrade to the classic DW5600 design, but with BT and high res screen

        • I'm still waiting for them to do a slightly smaller one with the MIP display. :(

          • @MonkDog: GBD 200 is not big by any means.

            • +1

@RSmith: No, it's not too bad really. But it's still slightly bigger than the DW-B5600 that I tried on at the same time, which was noticeable.

      • +1

The display is really good. It's easy to read.

It's a shame that the product photos don't showcase the main screen. Instead, they're showing the monthly goal dashboard with the time and date compressed in the lower half.

Here's a random review that I Googled that convinced me to buy the GBD200 for my dad:
        https://brooksreview.net/2021/12/gshock-gbd200/

He wanted something "easy to read with a backlight".

  • Good price on the MW240 as well; I bought one off eBay for $38 to use as a beater while gardening and find it quite comfortable. Black dial w/ orange numerals and green dial w/ white numerals are both $31, black dial with slightly less bright orange numerals is $33.20.

I bought the GBD200 for my dad earlier in the week. The screen is awesome.

Casio World Time AE1000W-1B has gone up to $48 now so I found the AE-1000W-1A for $44 which is the same just a different colour.
