What the T&Cs say and what happens in reality is different. There are lots of reports that you can use gift cards on post paid Accor Plus rates. The biggest issue with these cards seem to be that not all staff know how to process them.
By postpaid do you mean pay at the hotel? It's a solid hit and miss to pay at the hotel.
But if they actually go by the terms and you get a staff who knows them, can't be stacked with Accor plus rate
I wonder how they're allowed to get away with that. Let's say there's no discount on the gift card, we are giving Accor $200 now and they are allowing us to redeem that $200 later. What's the difference paying $200 or redeeming $200 that's been prepaid, regardless of any deals? Surely they can't just assume that gift cards have been purchased at a discount and block their use.
They are almost always on sale. It's like Accor knows their GCs aren't worth 100% of the value
What a joke
is that a joke, haha
Been thinking of joining up Accor Plus membership and it would be great if these gift cards can be used to offset costs.
Or to use them for renewal of Accor Plus.
Not space to enter gift cards at Accor Plus online checkout, they can only be redeemed at hotels I believe.
Ahh, bugger …
Has always been this price. You can use them by calling the accor call centre.
But can only use them in Australia.
@nightelves: Can be used in NZ and Fiji as well. Check the physical card.
@Dealking: How does the exchange rate work? Guess it would be less than favourable..
You can use these gift cards to pay for the hotel booked under Accor all membership.
To use accor gift cards to pay accor plus discounted rooms
seems you need to choose those "free cancellation" or "paid at hotel" rooms
those paid directly online wont be able to paid via giftcards
Hey mate, Can I use 10 gift cards and pay $2000 at property for single hotel booking?
While this depends on the staff in the hotel counter
Can’t see why you can’t
I did this for my upcoming booking. Before I made the booking and bought any gift cards, I called up the accor number to confirm if I can use gift card. I also asked them to make my booking for me using the rate in my all accor account.
After the booking was made I was able to apply gift cards worth the full amount of my booking. My total was $1395 - so I used 7 x $200 gift cards and was told that there is a balance of $5 remaining on my last card which is valid for 5 years.
@Dealking: Thanks mate for the info
I'd say it depends on the Hotel, I once used a massive stack / spreadsheet full of them to pay an almost $10,000 bill for an event at an Accor Hotel… and got a 15% discount !
I made very sure they were happy to accept them in writing, and that many of them, before buying so I didn't get stuck with them - had to go to multiple supermarkets to get enough.
Had a story to go along with it that I'd asked attendees to contribute by buying gift cards kind of thing, and enquired up front so they kind of thought it would make up my mind whether to go there or not.
They were good about it and I made it easy by collating them all into a spreadsheet and emailing it with the pin nos etc then brought all the cards on the day.
It’s always 15% off
As in always on sale at Costco?
Yup, always $169.99 for $200 whenever I’ve seen them.
I take a photo of the gift cards stand every now and then to keep an eye on prices and remind myself of the rates when needed.
So if I go to costco to buy 10 gift cards (total $2000) now, will I get them ? or Do I have to be the first one in line tomorrow when costco opens?
yes, its long running deals
but only that not all the time there are stocks (also depends on costco store locations)
What else is avaliable?
@douevenozbargain: other good GC deals in costco, such as
- 20% off Timezone giftcards (great to stack with double dollar day)
- 15% off Luxury escape
- 15% off Village roadshow (7 days) superpass (~$170 for 7 days pass, RRP is $199)
@littlesoldier: Also gourmet traveler, kayo, binge spotify
@littlesoldier: Do you think you can you the Timezone gift card for party bookings as well?
@1bargain: yes you can.
Good deal, pity only redeemable in ANZ and Fiji (per comments above). Anyone know how to avail cheaper GCs for stays in Asia Pacific?
Participating Pacific Region hotels - https://terms.accor.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Partic…
Not available in store or online.
So for example this GC can't be used in Accor group hotels in Bali?
Unfortunately this GC cant be used in Bali
It can be used in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji

Thanks mate! 👍
Just FYai, if you have Accor plus you can't use GC to pay as it's already a 'special' members rate
