This company pays for itself in terms of what a joke it is.

More reasonable price though than at launch.

4.4 stars, must be doing something right.

You know there's a lot of doctored reviews on Amazon right?

        • +5

Have you owned one? What were your issues?
I’m struggling to find any reviews under 6/10 or under 4.4/5 (totals), that includes Google reviews, official reviews and critiques.

I mean I wouldn’t buy one, but interested to see you views as an owner of one.

I think I sum up this phone for you with one word…”nothing”.

I'm going to have to do a Seinfeld binge after that. Absolute gold.

curious, why this over google pixel 8? mix reviews, looking for a 0 bloated phone, think ill pay for a pixel 8 sale unless this comes at the right price near motorola prices.

  • +7

If you click on the deal then click through to the Nothing store, there's a youtube vid that shows the phone being eaten by an octopus. I think that's the best thing about it.

      He's got a point.

      • Specs aren't really the be all and end all. Google Pixel phones use quite inferior hardware for example.

        • +2

Fair enough. I'm not sure what the selling points of this particular phone is though. The glyphs are a gimmick to me. And I'm not sure what's particularly special about NothingOS vs every other Android based OS. I'm clearly not in the niche they're going for.

          • @quanticism: New company so they probably don't have the buying power in terms of getting cheaper parts. Yea the Glyph is a gimmick but the phone isn't too bad. Agree about value in this part of the world though. I think in UK etc the price is much cheaper compared to the flagships so it's a decent buy for those seeking value but don't want to spend flagship dollars. Bit harder to justify here in Aus though cos like you said, what is special about the phone. Very little if anything.

    • Lol It's the 8+gen 1 actually…

Move along, Nothing to see here.

Have an alert set for $500. Not paying a cent more.

I prefer moto Edge 30 pro at $400, better than nothing

    Graphene OS support anytime soon?

If my Nothing 1 wasn't still working well, I would already be on the 2. I'm on the 1 and it's been pretty good.

No bloat and I reckon the camera's alright lol

The lights at the back are a total gimmick though.

Additionally, it has(d) support for iMessage too. Oops! 😬

    • +1

yeah until it turned out that anyone on the internet could read your messages which were meant to be encrypted for your privacy.

      • In fairness to them though, that was a third party company that (profanity) that whole thing up.

        • Love what Carl Pei is trying to do but this was a ****up waiting to happen. It was clear to everyone that it wasn't going to be safe and yet they proceeded with it. One would think they would have done significant research into it before proceeding.
