I was chatting to store rep on Microsoft.com store.

They have the same price as JB for all the boxing day deals on surface, except for a particular colour laptop my daughter is getting.

They matched the price and advised they're giving Surface Earbuds for free with Surface purchase.

The only thing is they charge you for it separate and refund on shipment (Same as price match).

They advised limited time, so don't have end date.

Edit: Need to have MS account email and payment method added, as they process the order in the chat with your approval. (They don't take details except name and email, then send a one time code)

    Great deal - is there a link for this on the Jbhifi or Microsoft website (or is it only on chat)?
    I found an email from Microsoft a couple of weeks ago about the free earbuds & the link takes you to the sale page but no mention of the earbuds (as though the offer has expired).

    I got additional 10% of $1497 as a refund + free surface ear buds. The addtional 10% would be refunded only after the item is delivered. Also used AMEX credit card and that saves another $100 if you have activated the Microsoft AMEX offer.

      That's great - was there any reason you got the extra 10% (did you just ask for an extra discount)? (Amex cashback is great too!)

        This works with any surface laptop 5 configuration i think. But check with the chat agent. I bought i5 512GB/16GB

      Thanks! It took me 4 attempts but i ended up with something I’m happy with. The first one said earbuds are out of stock and they would alert me when they return. Second chat offered nothing. Third offered me a mouse. And the last gave me 10% refund of a surface pro

    Good deal, I wish I needed a new laptop. If they process the items separately, what is stopping you from returning the surface and keeping the earbuds?

      My feel is the way they marketed the earbuds, they probably have a bunch to write off.

    The chat is very helpful. They said they don't have any earbuds left but offered a discount & choice of other accessories free (mouse, webcam, etc).

      I had a similar experience—I attempted to secure the same offer, but the agent mentioned that they wouldn't provide an exchange for the out-of-stock free Surface Buds unless I provided my friend's order/reference number. I would appreciate it if you could PM me with that information.

                I got the Laptop 5 i5/16gb/512 SSD in Sandstone with earbuds. - $1497.

                Delivered and refund of earbuds and laptop yesterday (Though originally wrong amount of price match, but they fixed it on chat)
