  • Atm Appliances Online has the C745 for $1490 in 75' in case anyone's interested.

    • Showing as $1674 for me?

      • Yep looks like they bumped it up (think there were only 5 units at that discounted price when I looked).

        • Managed to chat with an agent to "price match". Seemed to work if others want to try

Anyone got a TCL TV and use it in conjunction with a HT receiver? Any comments or feedback on how well it works with HDMI-CEC and ARC?

Does power on and input select work okay? Lip sync?

    • TCL has some really good HDMI support, I will say that.
You can make some good adjustments BUT the UI is a little weird.
It's not your traditional menu, once you're used to it, you should be fine.

Yes, just bought one 2 weeks ago. Connected to my amp which is a 10 year old Pioneer and it turn it on and switches to the correct audio channel.

    • Works really well for me, I have a fairly new model receiver

  • Can't c&c in Perth. No stock any stores apparently.

I got the 55" C745 to stick under the back patio a couple of weeks ago. Pretty impressed with the quality of the picture and the brightness for outside. Just hope it can last :)

    • +1

I'm on my 5th patio TV in about 12 years, they just don't last with the hot/cold conditions….imagine all the moisture & condensation that gets into them. But, not fussed as I buy cheap 60" plasmas off Gumtree/Facebook. You could try a cover?.. but then you'd be forever putting on & removing a cover.

      • Yes, my hope is 3 years +. I have been putting a cover on during the week and leaving it off on the weekends..

    • How much did you pick it up for? I am looking for this exact one but cant seem to find it under ~$900

      • I think it was $865 or $875

  • My Samsung Tv- not Smart Tv out of nowhere has got some flickering horizontal line on top of the screen. Can anyone suggest some troubleshooting that might work?

    • Had a Samsung like that it died within a week. Its about to go, its the panel or components inside nothing you can do

Would this be suitable to use as a PC monitor you reckon? Primarily for business use.
I.e. Would the text in emails/documents/terminals look ok?

When viewed from say 3-4 metres away?

    • WAYYY to big

      • not for 3-4 meters away it isn't

        • who uses a screen for business from 4 meters away?

          • @Flognuts: who cares?
If he wants it then let him, it's really none of your business.

            • +1

@[Deactivated]: LOL he asked if its suitable for emails and documents to which the answer is No, its not, there's a million better options than a 65 inch low-mid range TCL television for productivity…..but yes he can do what he wants.

              • +1

@Flognuts: How would YOU know what's suitable?
I am using the same exacting size but the 835 and it's perfect for this situation, because I am using it in the same exacting way.
                You are clueless.

A million better options but you failed to mention one.
                I think we're done here.

@[Deactivated]: Lol this guy….you must be fun in the office.

Basically any screen that enables you to sit at a desk and use a mouse & keyboard and not go blind is a better alternative than doing spreadsheets and firing off emails from the couch 4-5 meters away from a 65inch television. If its for gaming its a different story. / discussion.

@Flognuts: He asked a question, I have actual use of one, you don't.
Don't try and come off as someone who knows better when you have zero experience of what he is asking.

Lol this guy….you must be fun in the office.

I'm not in the Office. I watch it but I have never seen myself in it.
Fwiw, he never asked to sit at a desk, reading comprehension must be hard for you?
                    You must be fun, never.

                    • @[Deactivated]: Thanks Bargains4lulz.

My use case is really for when I get kicked out of the home office when the better half decided to work from home. Then I end up working from the rumpus/music/whatever room.

I currently use a 55" Samsung 1080p LCD, that's seen better days and is occasionally restarting, hooked up to my laptop. Which I drive with a wireless keyboard and mouse while sitting in a recliner.

My main concern is that at normal 100% text size, it's blurry -regardless of the combination of settings. Bumping it up to 150% fixed this but then I lose screen real estate.

Reckon this might do the trick?

                      • +1

                        @shakoo: 65 inch 4K with 300% is super clean, I mean it's perfect.
@ 175% you get real estate back, I don't see any issues with text other than it's smaller, it's not blurry.
You should be fine overall, as I do the same exacting thing, sit back and have wireless keyboard + mouse.

Yeah you can adjust everything to make sure it’s big enough. It’s a good TV. I have the 75inch and it supports 144hz.

      • Not the best power efficiency.

    • +1

It's an excellent monitor, I use mine when I sit 1.5 meters away, I use it in 4K editing where workspace is a premium and you can see it all and text is still legible.
I am on a 835 so you should have similar results minus the miniLED aspect.
It makes for a great TV too fwiw.

Thanks for replying! I think you've sold me 😁 pity it's sold out, but will keep your feedback in mind for next time.

  • Got this TV boxing day. Very impressed, the remote sux though.

  • Under delivery it says it wont deliver to my area, even though JB Hifi can by courier.

  • My Panasonic Plasma 42" TV work from 2010. Still in good conditions.

  • +1

I have a 55 c835. The mini led makes it. Worth the extra $. Definately wait for the c845 to go on sale

    • 65 here, love it, when I 1st got it I was like wtf have I done, it's too big, when you get used to it, it's perfect when you're using it native 4K, you can actually read the text.

  • I just returned my one week old 75" C845 for a refund.
    - WIFI stopped working
    - no picture with TV (intermittent)
    - chasis vibrated badly when music was playing.
    No respnse from TCL support.
At least JB HIFI were helpful and arranged for it to be collected

  • My TCL 835 has audio delay.

    Nothing I've tried fixes it.

The delay setting is capped at -50 up too +200. It needs -200 to speed up the delay.

Plus it constantly has to be reset from settings when the audio goes all crackly sometimes.

Will be taking it back. Only 6 months old.

    • This is deff an issue as mine doesn't do this other than with BT devices, but that depends on latency of said device.
How do you have the TV set up, are you using optic, HDMI or tested with FTA material?
