Heads up to save clicking - No HDD version.

    • Yeah It's an alright price but every couple of weeks Shopping Express seem to do a deal on these, I got a 250GB HDD with mine for $239 a month or so back, and then I checked like 2 days later and they had the diskless model for $219 - now back up to $245.

CHeaper at Harris tech, on clearance for $198 + Delivery, limited stock http://www.ht.com.au/part/AJ555-HP-MICROSERVER-AMD-N40L112GB…

    • Great price - again note no HDD with this package.

FWIW, if you intend using this server as a virtualisation platform, these processors don't support DirectIO (AMD IOMMU), so USB pass through on hypervisors like ESXi won't enable you to present an external USB HDD as a data store to guest operating systems. I'm still experimenting with different options to get a combination that works for me…

Other than this, these are a great low power consumption bit of kit!

TrollBags - Excellent find !! Cheapest for a while so put an order in to pick up from N.Ryde tomorrow, cheers matey !!

(Judging by the amount of +ve's your getting the offer probably deserves its own post)

    • Nice one!

With the Business Centre pickup, does that mean you can have one transferred to your local store and not pay a delivery charge?

EDIT: Seems you can order it to any of their business centers, including Hawthorne for no charge. Excellent!

Is this the same server as:

      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/81761

If so, Harris tech is a better deal, is it not?

      • Pretty sure all N40L are the same, in both cases no HDD or optical drive is included

Excuse my ignorance but where is the N40L on clearance at HT for $198? I clicked TrollBags' link and it comes up with $248.

If anyone wants one in Melbourne, Scorptec has them as in stock at all stores, they are the same $239 price for pickup [$70 delivery to WA :-(] http://www.scorptec.com.au/computer/47733-qz160a

  • Ahhh, would've been keen at $199. It seems that one from harristech comes with a 1TB drive? Can anyone confirm?

    • What makes you say that?

        HP MICROSERVER AMD-N40L(1/1)2GB(1/2), LFF-SATA(0/4)-3.5,1GB

Nm, I misread 1gb as 1TB. That'll teach me to try and be clever.

  • Hmm, I manage to secure two units for $396. i.e $198 each. i believe i was quick to order ht website :)
