We bought it for our wedding on the weekend. Going to have the guest book with some double sided tape and this camera, where people are encouraged to take a photo and stick it in the book next to where they sign.
I don’t think anyone would try to argue that this is preferable in quality to modern cameras, but there are certainly still use cases for cameras like this.
Is the paper refills really expensive like $2 per photo or something?

Same reason why people bought the vinyl and DVD/Bluray - to actually own some physical memories before we all eat dirt anyway.
Also having an album full of instapics is cool. We've done this for the past 8 years and so many good memories…
I have one of these mate. These have their own place.
I normally carry my ff camera and this both when we go on family trips.
My daughter got one for her birthday last year and I thought similar, until we went on an overseas holiday. She used it to take a photo or two a each day and then stick it in a journal to write down memories of the holiday. Sure, you could do the same with printing out photos at the end of the trip but it was a big part of our holiday memories.
Where can you get decently priced film??
I buy 60 or 10p packs from amazon, ebay or officeworks. Compare prices, check past deals, and use coupons.
