Have you travelled as Velocity Gold member on United Airlines' domestic flights in the US? Did you get a free bag allowance for yourself and your travel partner?
I enquired with UA but they are not sure! In fact, their system says bags are not free when they switch me over from Premier Gold (UA's FF) to Velocity Gold.
I'd appreciate someone who had actual experience in this scenario. I want to earn velocity points and status credits on these US flights.

I think there may have been a PointHacks article discussing Aus status FFers travelling in the US or something similar recently, but can't recall what the verdict was.
