I remember I had Mortal Kombat 1 on SNES back in 1993.

    • -5

I think this is a remake of one made for the Xbox One.

      • +1

        Nope, not a remake. It's a sequel/reboot

    • +2

This is mortal kombat 1, the sequel to mortal kombat 11, not to be confused with mortal kombat or mortal kombat

      • +1

The game is like John Farnham… just keeps going.

      • -1

Yes, another IP caught the infamous Xboxitis.

    • +1

Probably cost over $100 back then.

Street Fighter 2 turbo was $150

    • I had it on my mega drive, was awesome.

      • The only version with playing back in the day (expect for the arcade version).

    • Oh you mean that sad version with the sweat and bad controls? Yerkh.

      • Sweat?

        • +2

You don't remember that Nintendo replaced the blood with sweat in MK1 on the SNES? Only the Mega drive had the blood and gore with a code.

  • What happens after the weekend finish

      fatality.

      Monday.

      • +3

Except for Bison. For him, it's a Tuesday.

        • +1

Not sure if I should feel embarrassed that I understood this reference

          • @kraigg: Well, in all fairness, if you're like me and saw it when it first came out, it was a time before the internet was commonplace and reviews weren't fast to circulate. I actually saw it during the first week of release considering how big Street Fighter was at the time. It was pretty hyped from gaming magazines alone.

And then the god aweful script and silly premise of the film hit. But that one line stood out amongst the mess. God bless Raul Julia for having fun with the role.

Obviously can't play the game any more unless you buy it.

  • +2

Awesome :) this is one of those games I know I’ll play for a few hours and feel satisfied, so I was waiting for a serious discount. This is even better!

  • Creativity of fatalities are lost. Too similar. May be human can only die in not many ways.

    • +3

      Many word say little

    • +5

You mean the shock value isn't there anymore. They need to bring back beastiality

      • +1

Was that a thing lol? I remember animality
I may have been too young to remember this. But really can't imagine that naming going through… This is again mortal Kombat so who knows.

        • +3

they need to take it to the next level

  • +1

    Toasty!

    • +2

The amount of trolling those devs put each other through is biblical, lol.

  • +1

Back in my day mk was 1mb. Last i looked this is over 100gb.

  • um, should put trial in the title, this is misleading / click bait

  • Test your might!

  • +1

Normally they are available on Thursday night for me but i can't get this one yet. Gonna take all weekend to download it too.

    • -1

Wrong weekend. It was last weekend

      • +1

It says 7-10 March in the link.

        • That's true. I thought I remember seeing it last week.. then I realized it's a game trial from ps deluxe

  • Damn, nearly missed this!

Time to see if it runs with UEVR!

  • Chiming in with my experience of the MK1 free weekend. It had a lot of characters locked (including basic ones) that could only be unlocked via additional fees, even if you pay for the full game. I tried story mode and was very quickly met with a "thanks for playing the trial" then story mode abruptly stopped.

I thought free weekends were to try the game for the weekend. MK1 was a glorified demo. I am unsure why the demo was only available for 3 days. It discouraged me from paying for it afterwards.
