How about no. Where's the AI?

sadly 16gb soldered ram with no option to upgrade

  • +3
    • cpu is a refreshed ryzen 5 7640HS 6c/12t from last year

    • gpu is the refreshed 3050m with 2gb extra vram and cuda cores, but cut down bandwidth, no mux switch nor advanced optimus

I would definitely wait for the 1.9k Legion Slim 14' with a 7840HS and 4060 to return for the far larger jump in performance (and future proofing) for only 400$ (you can actually play current gen triple A titles smoothly, imagine that).

Or, if you dont need a beefy gpu, just the intergrated 780m is way more than enough (not quite a 1650 - subject to ram speeds, but handily beat 1050ti and the likes) - get a machine without the dgpu for cheaper, lighter, much quiter and have better battery life - yes, it is true you can change all apps to run on igpu to save power, but it is a hassle, and one issue many folks have is some random nvidia processes often just launches on its own wasting your battery, and unlike some brands, as far as I know there is no built in 'igpu only' mode for these so you are outta luck there

  • How does the 3050 compare to 780m?

Also 16gb soldered with no option to upgrade is a killer in this era. 16gb is the new 8gb base now

    • 780m is roughly the same as 1650 mobile. You can check benchmark between 3050 mobile vs 1650 mobile for comparison.

right so that means 3050 is miles better.
