Hi first post for any gymbros out there looking for a gym membership.

Got this sms this morning as an ex-member of Crunch, best deal i've ever received. $7.95 a week, dont have to go into a 12 month contract and they waive the usual joining fee. Usual rate for this type of membership looks to be $12.95/week on the website. Can also go to all clubs they have on this Base level membership so i signed up again.

My partner has signed up on it and has never been a member so code looks to be open to everyone!

    Seems to be a 12 months contract when I entered the code. The T&Cs are:

    12 Month Membership Commitment
    No Time Restrictions
    Free WiFi
    Full Service Locker Rooms
    Gym and Cardio Access

    Final Month's Membership Fee $31.80
    Annual maintenance fee of $44.90 (charged on the closest billing Friday after 90 days from your billing date)
    An additional $1 per fortnight fee for your Membership is charged for the following benefits:
    1) pay as you go processing,
    2) ability to freeze your membership and
    3) right to cancel membership after your 12 month commitment period by giving 30 days’ notice

        Final months membership fee is just the 4 weeks paid in advance, as you need to provide 4 weeks cancellation notice. You can still use the gym in that 4 weeks.

          Yeah but the $44.90? +$1 per fortnight?

          So $7.95 per week is not the total cost as advertised with these hidden fees.

            @Ultraman: I'm certainly not promoting these, that's why I didn't comment on those specifically.

            However to a particular extent you've got to expect some kind of fees if there's no $99 card fee + $99 joining fee + $79 admin fee BS

        T&Cs says

        1. Termination on expiry of Your Fixed Term Agreement
          If you have a Fixed Term Agreement (paid in full upfront payment), it will terminate automatically upon expiry of the 12-month term.

        Seems a bit contradictory

      It was definitely month to month contract when i signed up! I even just called the club to make sure it was - fyi i joined mortdale. This is what i get when i use the code:

    Looks like it vaires between locations.
    Mortdale is Week-to-Week but my local is 12 month contract unfortunately

    Then wouldn't their $399 per year lock in be the cheapest (there's no $1 per fortnight + $44.90 per year maintenance).
    Turns out to be $7.67 per week.
