  • Great game, 3 quarters of the way through. Took a couple of hours for me to get over the whole 2d thing and enjoy it for what it is but gets addictive fast.

    • I hate not having the option to save anytime.

      • you literally save at the tree which are scattered everywhere

        • I had the demo. Can’t literally save anytime i want without finding the tree first.

  • Thanks!

Price matched with JB by the looks of it.

  • wow too them long enough to make another Prince of Persia :D

Ubisoft.. Won't this be $20-30 in a few months?

    • +1

      Likely

Love PoP, always have since way back when. But still hodling for a great deal or PS Plus.
How does this particular version compare to something like Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee?

    • +2

Well it's been awhile and this is pretty good PoP release that have decent gameplay and good gauge of interest. We should get more PoP if this do well.

      • Hopefully, I just want a modern AAA PoP but it's Ubisoft so I probably shouldn't be expecting too much, although this seems to be one of the more well received games from Ubisoft recently so it might be a good sign.

        • +1

Assassin's Creed with a prince of Persia re-skin. No thanks

  • Does anyone know if there are any shortcomings on the Switch version compared to PS5?

    • +1

      No 120fps on Switch

    • +5

      PS5: 4K and 120fps
      Switch: 1080p and 60fps.

    • Thanks for letting me know!

    • +1

I played the demo on the Switch and then bought and finished it on the PS5. It's still a great looking game on the Switch, but I'm really glad I played through it properly on the PS5 :)

    • It has been reported that this game was built for switch and then upscaled for other platforms so doesn't have performance issues like a lot of other recent third party games.

  • +2

There’s a demo on PlayStation. Was a fan as a kid and I enjoyed it but the save games weren’t frequent enough for my limited gaming time

  • same price at jb hifi too.

  • +1

I am tempted to buy both the switch and ps5 verisons :D

    • +1

I already have it on Xbox but bought a copy for PS5 too, lol.

      It's a great game!

      • +2

Why ? Aren't they the same on both the consoles?

        • so I can play it on the go and also play it on my ps5 having the game on any console I want to play its collector and also as a collectors it adds to my collection. secondly I used my Telstra points to get both for free so didn't cost me :D

    • +3

I double dipped on Switch and Xbox (not from this deal), there is cross save support if you sign in with an Ubisoft account. It's a great game, I 100% it in around 40 hours.

  • +1

It's almost 2 months and already on sale.

    Damn!!!!

    • +3

Seems to be a good game, I wonder if they might have actually had more success without the Prince of Persia IP? To me it doesn’t seem to have much similarity to the gameplay of the classic platform games or the later 3D games, so using the name might only disappoint fans while having little (or even a negative) effect on people who don’t care about the franchise?

      • +1

Yeah this was absolutely a committee decision, where two individuals or factions want two different things, and they compromise on something that satisfies neither.

One wanted a new AAA game in the beloved Prince of Persia franchise, one wanted an edgy fresh character in a cleverly done platformer. Two good ideas ending up a shoehorned compromise that's good but not amazing.

  • +1

    …………………anyone have it on pc?

    • no UW support, no steam, no bueno

    • +1

I got Ubi+ for a month to play this, avatar and AC mirage. What do you want to know about the PC version specifically?? It's pretty much the same as the consoles

  • Yes, it's a good game. Exceed my expectation from Ubisoft

  • -1

Will it play on switch 2?

  • +1

Amazing game, is a shame they had to cut an entire area of the game to be released on time… hope they work on some DLC for it

  • +1

    My 2c.
Gameplay was good, I found a few glitches on the Switch version that required a reload (i.e. sound dropping out, unable to pick objects up or interact with characters). Didn't have those issues on PC.
Story had promise, but they clearly rushed the second half of the game and absolutely botched it.
Obviously subjective, but I also found it got really easy half way through. I didn't ever need to adjust amulets or athura surges, unlike in games like Hollow Knight.
All in all, definitely worth playing, but nowhere near as polished as other metroidvanias on the market.

    • +1

if you are used to metroidvanias then its an easy good looking game, was made to please more of the market then just few niche ppl

if you want a hard one play blasphemous :)

      • Absolutely mate. Have played it and loved/hated it. :D

  • best game Ubi came up in a long time, shame its not getting the sales it deserves and I paid $20 more not long ago!!!
    still worth it.

    • +1

It's a great game but $80 is a bit high. I feel like $40 would have been a better starting point.

      • +1

it was $69 on switch which is about right and for the length of the game and all I think its worth it.
        at 49 its a steal
if it goes any lower its a robbery

  • Great game (have on PS5).

  • I really enjoyed this, movement is super fluid and feels great once you've unlocked a few of the fancier moves. Only thing is I was terrible at parrying attacks.

  • good game, i think $20 is a fair price. i subbed ubi+ one month to play it and don't feel like replaying

  • +2

    Hells yeah.

    C:\POP2> prince.exe yippeeyahoo

  • Great game

  • Why people like this game? I used to be the fan lover of this game… But whats so special in this one? forgotten sands, warrior within, sand of time… They were the real games

    • +2

its nothing like the originals, its one of the best metroidvanias out there right now- if you like this style the game is a must but guess not many ppl like 2d games

      • Yeah. Not my type. ;)

    • this is very similar to the original 2d platformer prince of persia before they screwed it up with 3D versions of the game. If you didnt' grow up with this game you won't understand.

  • might grab this one or just wait for peach
    JB$49-10perk-30afterpay=$9
that sounds a bout right for ubisoft game

    • How do you get $30 afterpay.

      • use referal code to create an account

    • +1

spend telstra points to get 49 dollar amazon gift card = Free game.

  • Id buy a remake (with updated fighting mechanics, visuals) of the Sands of time, Warrior within ETC. The story was sick and it was just a cool game.

  • Used all my telstra points but i bought 2 $50 amazon gift card and bough switch and ps5 version :D i finally spent my telstra points lol

  • played it last night on the switch you get a code in box for a skin which is pretty cool. you connected it to you ubisoft account, and its such a throw back to the original hehe just a better version with a story line and better graphics, but its the same type of game its all about timing :D bosses aren't hard unless you have bad reflexs lol.

  • +2

Its has cross platform saving in this game I played some on my switch saves to the cloud and you can download the same saved file to PS5 and continue its great!!

  • +1

This is back in stock on switch and down to $44

    • +1

Thanks for that, updated the post :)
