Pinnacle Workbench from Bunnings - Did You Get One?

I bought it, but after assembly the top is not square and the top shelf does not fit properly.
Does anyone else have this problem?
Any ideas on how to fix it?

This is the unit ($90):

Place aside the top. Loosen every single bolt so the frame is a wobbly mess but can still stand up. Add the top, square up the frame to the top and then tighten away. Enjoy your new penorkel workbench.

      Loosen every single bolt

Pretty sure the pinnacle is a boltless design

That makes sense. Well there goes my one and only helpful post down the sink.

"Top shelf does not sit properly" could mean a myriad of different things… Does it fit but it rocks around? Does it not fit because the top is too long/wide? Is the top warped or bent? Are any of the legs or cross members bent?

I have one of these at home and it went together fine.

    • The space available for the shelf is "lopsided" - too much space in one corner, not enough space in another.
I checked and all the tabs have been mallet tapped to the bottom.

I think I'll have to loosen them all and try again.

I spoke to my supervisor and he said I'm good to go and never come back. Whatever that means.

With these boltless designs, sometimes the tabs don't seat properly. What I've done in the past is to use a rubber mallet (or a small piece of wood) so I didn't bend the metal or damage the finish, and firmly (not hard) tap down on the top and shelf until they seat. Sometimes I've come across a bent tab where I've had to use a large flat bladed screwdriver to straighten. Place it where it is bent and twist it back into place (using the side edge of the piece as a leverage point). Don't whack with a hammer, cause that could cause the soft metal to tear. Lastly, I've noticed sometimes with these kind of shelves if you place some heavy item on them, they often straighten up on their own. Hope this helps.
