I think you need to wait > 30 days before you are eligible for the 10% off.

    • When did this happen? That pretty much kills the deal.

I got a couple around last Oct, and it was the case then… So sometime before then.

        • It also looks like you need to keep recharging the mobile plan to continue receiving the 10% discount. I only got one chance since I did not recharge - pretty much kills the deal.
I know in the past you would get like 6 months or so without recharging, but that has changed.

    • Yes, you used to be able to buy one of these SIM cards then get the 10% off every month for 5 or 6 months.
Now the 10% off only starts after the first month and only while you keep it recharged.

      • I guess this is another case of OzBargainers killing off a good deal.

The $35 one for $17.50 is a good way to top up your data on the long term expiry plans….

    • But isn’t this data valid for 30 days only?

      • You can gift half of it…

So you can gift 21GB for $17.50 onto a long term plan.

Works out cheaper than 125GB for $170 (or 200GB for $220)

Good for topping up the kid's accounts so their long expiry plan doesn't need to be renewed early…

The data gets banked if unused too…

        • Ooh nice trick…

To clarify, you need to be on one of $100, $170 or $220 long term plans to retain the gifted data more than 30 days?

@Chickfilo: Once the data is gifted it won't expire (unless your account lapses) and will get used before your regular data…

You can pretty much give half your allowance to any other Everyday mobile account that allows data gifting (I think they all do)

          • @Chickfilo: Or keep recharging on the 30 day plan

          • @Chickfilo: Thanks for the clarification. I have a hard time understanding how all these different prepaid plans work. I just want a longer term cheap SIM with small amount of data.Seems like Catch $89 is still the best deal currently.

            • @Popo: Yes, Catch 1-year $89 is the best deal I know of for users with fairly low data needs.
Otherwise Aldi $5 SIM for users who don't usually need to phone/text and who use hardly any data.

  • Does the sim need to be activated by a certain date?

    • Probably.
