Most of the time Toyota app scan terminal is not working, always they say sorry, this machine is not workings.

    • Yeah I was thinking it would be easy for them to deny the discount.

  • Is it a one off thing or unlimited within a period?

  • +1

A dummy question: does the fuel station actually check if the car is a Toyota or not?

    • +3

Yes the cash register usually goes out and checks when you’re scanning the QR code. True story.

    • +3

      Absolutely not.

    • Nope. I use my boss's Captiva to fuel using my Toyota app

    • +3

I usually have a pair of Toyota badges in my Citroen glove box, when required, cover them on top of the Citroen badges before going to the servo to fool the attendant

    • +1

Actually they do. The receipt on mine literally says non-toyota car when I fill up my non-toyota car.

Pretty sure it's just a tracking thing, because I still got the full discount.

  • Frustrating, their old app used to work fine with my 2002 Prado. New app no longer recognises my car :/

    • +1

Same here except 2008 camry, I think somewhere along the line they updated the app and removed all the vehicles from accounts…

If they're gonna be like that, I guess just grab any vin off gumtree…

  • Great timing for once just as I’ve started seeing some servos jumping from $ 1.81 to $2.38 in Melbourne

    • +2

Cool, now you're only getting f***ked 47c/L instead of 57.

    • NSW here. The Ampol is selling $1.88 while the Metro servo 1km further down the road is $1.76

  • +1

Does it stack with Woolworths 4 cents off ?

    • +1

      Nope

    • There's sone servo that's Ampol but let's you redeem Woolies 4c off, they let me stack with Toyota. The other Ampol only let's me collect Woolies points but not use the fuel voucher, so it depends which one

    • +1

In most cases, most of the 217 Ampol Foodary stations that accept the Woolworths discounts across Australia have recently had their Point of Sales (POS) systems updated where the first discount presented automatically gets removed/striked out by the system.

So it's best to scan the "biggest" discount second, as scanning the smaller one i.e Woolworths will lead to the Toyota/NRMA special discounts removed and overridden if the Woolworths discount is scanned 'second'.

It is worth a try as there are still a few Ampol Foodary locations that allows at least one stack.

  • Can you stack with NRMA discount 20c off?

    • 20c? Where is that?

    • I too, want to know where one can get this magical 20 cents off, nothing in My NRMA app

  • Toyota is the logo with the H yeah?

Like the two t's joining together ?

    • +1

That's Acura. Looks like two guys leaning towards each other and 'docking'….

      • Pride month every month with Acura

  • Works with my old Landcruiser that I have owned for 20 years which is not bad at all. Down side is fuel is still cheaper from local independents than buying from Ampol even with 0.10 cpl discount.

At the moment diesel is 209.9 from Ampol and 185,9 from independents around where I live.

    • Ampol are always overpriced in Perth..

  • +1

All the Ampol servos near me are 10-15cpl more expensive than others, so no luck for me here. I can get ULP today for 173.3 at 7 Eleven vs 192.3 at Ampol, minus the 10c = 182.3

    • All the Ampol servos near me are 10-15cpl more expensive than others

Ours was about 50cents cheaper per litre than the 7 Eleven.

    • minus the 10c = 182.3

It is minus 14c if you have a Woolies fuel voucher.

      • -1

Ampol doesn't take Woolies fuel vouchers. There's EG Ampol which used to be Caltex Woolworths and then there's normal Ampol which used to be Caltex.

The Toyota discount can't be used at EG Ampol, only Woolies discount.

        • Ampol doesn't take Woolies fuel vouchers.

I used it yesterday, together with my 10c Origin fuel voucher, so 14c off…

        • +2

Ampol doesn't take Woolies fuel vouchers.

There are currently 217 Ampol Foodary service stations listed on the Ampol store locator that accept the Woolworths fuel discount (4c/L in mainland Australia, 6c/L in Tasmania). Most of these service stations used to be part of the old Caltex Woolworths joint venture (which operated from 2003 to 2015).

There is also one independent Ampol service station that honours the Woolworths fuel discount.

          • +1

@WookieMonster: That goes to show how long it's been since I went to an Ampol servo. Thanks for the info!

  • +1

    Thanks op & gumtree

    • Dang need to note that down.

But isn't the VIN already registered to the old owner (if they have the app too)?

      • Yeh but not many people use the app

  • Thanks used it before price touches $2.10

  • +1

In NSW, an example difference between a participating vs non-participating Ampol 4 km apart, for ULP 91:

    Non participating: $1.86
    Participating: $2.31

  • Didn't work. They scanned it and asked to scanned again. But my app said only once a day. Waste of money and time.
