[Pre Order] LG G4 65" OLED TV (2024) & Bonus $100 Videopro Gift Card - $4780 + Delivery @ Videopro

50

This is a pretty good deal for anyone looking for a new top of the line TV. This price is around $500 cheaper than JB HiFi, Good Guys and Harvey Norman.

I will purchase one of these myself when they get released on 25 March. I tried to price match with JB as I have gift cards there that I want to use but they declined to as it is a pre-order. (Note, I did get JB to price match it on Monday but was still a bit hesitant on buying such an expensive TV so the direct cart expired then when I contacted them again they outright declined to price match even when I said they already had a few days ago).

Give 2 months and this will be around $3-3.5k

    • Exactly, only early adopters pay RRP.

    • It is $3.75k with preorder in LG edu portal IF you count the $300 voucher as cash…

    HODL!

  • 5 year Limited Panel Warranty*
*1 year product warranty incl. panel (parts & labour) + 4 year panel replacement warranty (parts only).

So they will replace the panel but you still pay for the labour ?

    • That is how I read it as well. I would say that the consumer guarantees and stuff still apply after the initial 1 year, so you could talk to them and most likely not have to pay labour costs.

  • Any compelling reasons to consider the G4 over the G3?

No one owns it yet here in Straya. Youtube reviews probably might help?

    • Depending on the use of the TV, this has 2nd Gen MLA tech, so brighter HDR highlights they claimed and a brighter panel overall. There's also a new AI processor for image clarity and overall speed improvements, but I don't think anything has been tested by reviewers yet as the TV isn't out yet.

Personally, I'm going for this one as the previous gen wasn't designed to be freestanding, they were designed to be wall-mounted. The stand that LG sold resulted in the TV leaning backwards by a few degrees. Whereas in this gen the 55" and 65" come with a dedicated stand in the box that puts the TV upright perfectly and I think it looks much better than the G3 stand!

      • Does that really affect the viewing experience? I would love a G3 but too much coin for my liking. I would also love a A95L but that’s even more absurd.

        • Regarding the screen/processor. Not too sure yet as it hasn't been properly reviewed. For the stand situation, I would say it depends on your viewing preferences. Personally, constantly having the screen slightly angled back would annoy me and the stand on the G3 is on a bit of a slope itself so would cause my soundbar to block a bit of the bottom screen.

          • @theboon: You dont notice it at all due to the great viewing angles but the G series were foremost designed for wall mount where they sit flat against the wall and look fantastic.

      HOLD for G6

    • Probably not for the price difference at this time. Guess can compare on Rtings

    • Ai processors are still in their infancy TV wise and will take three generations to mature.

I agree with Digital Trends YouTube video where he mentioned to purchase now as inflation plays havoc with TV pricing.

I think stock is drying up compared to last years runout. Interestingly had two sources in the retail industry; one franchise who mentioned price drops today however it was a lot more than I anticipated and another at a competitor whom also mentioned incoming 2024 stock today (especially Samsung deliveries to store) alongside price drops.

There will be runouts for the next two months and price matching and buyers will have to look harder (eBay stores, Edu, etc) and a lot of not as popular or lower end models on sale first before the more expensive models. The latter will also be kept as late as possible because the stores know their feature sets compete well with the next mid and premium generation and can hold on to their value for longer.

  • That’s exxy wow. My c7 still alive and kicking after a panel change during covid.

  • Oof. Glad I paid $2589 for my 65” G3 on Black Friday.

  • If you have edu account you can get 15%+10% off plus $300 voucher from LG, taking it to about $3750. Still much more expensive than G3 but apparently second gen panel which is much brighter.

Much more interesting is the 83" model which now has MLA for the first time and can take brightness to 3000 nits. It is down to about $7350 with the voucher against RRP of $10k.

Doesn't look like the 97" G4 is sold in Australia.
