Commencing on 25 June 2024, Jetstar Asia will become the only airline to fly direct from Singapore to Broome.

  • Very odd route, bet tourism WA is very happy.

Hopefully, this means Jetstar will creat a major hub in WA and we can continue to get more than just PER - DPS….

    • Perth to Singapore, Phuket, and Bangkok are already available for sale with Jetstar from Q3 2024 and beyond.

      • Yeah but for how long? PER - SIN lasted 3-4 months last time…

        • I can book right up to google flights maximum calendar limit of February 20 2025. That applies to HKT and BKK.

    • Now, if Jetstar, Jetstar Asia and Qantas could get together and do a Sydney-Broome-Singapore-London fare for the same price as a regular economy Sydney-Singapore-London fare I would be a regular customer. I'm sure many others would love it too.

Cant say I was expecting a route like this to pop up

I've been saying forever that I would fly Melbourne to Broome if it was somewhat affordable (aka not the weekly qantas flight).

Jetstar have clearly seen success from flying into Busselton, I think Broome is another great opportunity.. another one would be Esperance if they had an airport that could take a 737/A320.

But yes, weird that Singapore to Broome pops up before a domestic flight to Broome from a major city…

It could be cheaper to fly to Broome from Syd/Mel via Singapore with Scoot + Jetstar (2 x $115 + $480 = $710) than Domestically with QF/VA (cheapest I could see was $964).
    Make it make sense…

Singapore is a great stopover country
      Makes complete sense.

    • My first thought! I love Broome, but so expensive to get to from east coast.

  • Hmm.. A beer and chips at Matso's or a flight to Sing…

    Broome Direct ↔ Singapore [Jun-Oct] from $115

The price of 3 Singapore Slings at Raffles…

    • Closer to two.

      • Yep, I forgot the Aussie dollar fell even more since Albo got in…

  • Bring back flights from Hobart to Singapore :(

  • Wonder when they’ll do Hobart to Singapore….

    • Possibly when Jetstar get more A321neos, but I haven’t heard it being on the radar yet.

  • Interestingly SilkAir (Singapore Airlines’ former regional subsidiary) used to fly SIN-BME back in 2019, so this isn’t an entirely out of the ordinary route.

Also note this is operated by Jetstar Asia, the Australian airline’s subsidiary.

    • Presumably because Jetstar don't base aircraft in Broome, but Jetstar Asia do in Singapore.

    • +1

SilkAir flew only 3 return flights over 2 weeks back in 2019.

  • Anytime I've looked into going to Broome all the accommodation has been pretty much sold out. Granted the last couple of years have been crazy and I was looking at peak season.

  • Should be from $135 club jetstar.

From the linked press release in the OP https://newsroom.jetstar.com/jetstar-asia-announces-low-fare…

'To celebrate the launch, Jetstar Asia is offering special one-way fares from Singapore to Broome from SG$125, and from Broome to Singapore for just AU$145, available on jetstar.com from 10:00 (SGT) today.

Additionally, Club Jetstar members can enjoy exclusive access to even lower fares from just SG$115 (Singapore to Broome) or AU$135 (Broome to Singapore) one-way. Travellers can sign up for Club Jetstar membership on jetstar.com during the booking process.'

Also, the price grids are not helpful - Jetstar will fly twice a week, so the prices for other days (higher) will be indirect 12+ hour flights.

  • I wish JQ would reinstate Singapore to Darwin!!
