  • Haval spelt backwards is Lavah.

    • And what is Lavah?

      • +2

Hot molten or semi-fluid rock erupted from a volcano or fissure but that's not important right now.

        • Oh, he means Lava.. šŸ™ƒ

        • That's lava, when you add the Aussie 'h' to the end it becomes "Farken hot stuff, sometimes with chunks in it, that splurts out of a mountain like a flamin turd after a night on the turps"

Someone that leaves their chap stick in the centre console.

  • Seeing a lot more of these around town. For the money… I do think the fitout, efficiency and practicality is very good. Sat and had a little drive with my mate's Haval and it was better than expected.

  • I am seeing tonnes of Havels around nowadays and at first I'd mistaken them for more expensive brands.

I'd mistaken them for more expensive brands.

Cheap chinese clones of other cars. Looks aren't everything.

    youre paying 10k too much

Have you actually driven one OP?

You can get a very nice second hand Toyota/Lexus for that kind of money. It will last longer and have less issues.

Not really, Lexus you would be looking at one fairly old for $30k. They'll "last longer" but a $30k one is already at it's half life.

      • +5

I'd rather a half used Lexus than a new haval.

        • Each to their own. Personally I think life is too short to spend so much money on a SUV. I only drive sports cars, family can go in the old hatch back.

      • You could buy a 90s Lexus and it would still last longer than most of these Chinese cars.

Resale on these is going to be shit, so if you plan on moving it in on 2-3 years be prepared to take a hit.

If you're planning on just driving it into the ground and then selling for scrap, you may be lucky and get 10 years out of it.

In that scenario your purchase price is about $3k per year.

    Does that help?

The world and current civilization will end in 2 years …
In that scenario your purchase price is about $15,000 per year.
      A bargain.

    Check for rust

  • Wouldn't touch a Haval Chinese pos at any price especially an EV. Just ask yourself" would you be willing to buy this car after 3 or 4 years"?.
