Back in my days, the RRP was $4.95 with 11 cards per booster :(

Back in my day it was kids who collected these for fun, not aging millennials treating them like the stock market.

I remember getting around 50 ex deoxys booster packs on clearance at coles for 15c each.
        They're now $1500 per.
As much as $75k would be nice, I wouldn't trade the memories I have opening them up with my siblings and father.

The obsessive "investing" in every pokemon product has definitely started to ruin the hobby.

        • I remember getting the same deal!

Although it was some of the other ex series packs.

Honestly I wish I'd saved them in a box somewhere so I'd have the cash now!

I do agree on the investing part taking the fun out of it.

I was collecting full sets prior to 2020 basically causing a 5-10x price rise.

It really ruined the fun of filling in the cards I didn't have as a child. You used to be able to grab most of the older holos for a dollar or two each with the more expensive ones (only 2-3 a set) being around the 7-10 range.

Now the cheapest holos are 10-15 and its just too much. Not even getting into the cost for the ultra rares…
