TP-Link Archer BE800 BE19000 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 7 Router $628 + Delivery @ The Good Guys Commercial (Membership Required)

90

Selling for $999 at most other places. $628 is a great price for a well-reviewed Wi-Fi 7 router. Skip the stunted 6e routers and jump straight to 7.

Reviews are good and this model seems to top most of the best Wi-Fi 7 router lists for 2024.

Whats the point of such a high speed router if you need to hug and kiss it to get good speeds. Would prefer a mesh bundle if going for such technology.

Results from the 6GHz test were more mixed: The router delivered a blistering 2,280Mbps in the close-range test, but at 30 feet it plummeted to 232Mbps.

    30ft being 9.14m, from https://au.pcmag.com/wireless-routers/102380/tp-link-archer-…

Exactly this. And what device even supports WiFi 7 right now? By the time devices do, this'll be half the price. Save your money guys.

This is a US-based publication, and as noted in the review multiple times the transmit power is quite limited in the United States.

This disparity is expected in part because Federal Communications Commission rules restrict the power of 6GHz Wi-Fi transmissions to a level that makes them useful only in close proximity to the router.

Currently they're limited to about 12db or ~15.8mW, whereas in Australia we're allowed up to… 250mW. Ever so slight difference.

  • Since when did Wi-Fi 7 become a standard

"Wi-Fi 7 is the upcoming WiFi standard, also known as IEEE 802.11be Extremely High Throughput (EHT). "

I think the question is since when did hug and kiss become the standards for good speed?

I’ll need to refinance my home to afford this router.

Based on how big it is, you can sell your home and live in this router

I only recently switched from my unifi AC pro to something with wifi 6 lol

  • This is like 8k audio visual equipments.. Why ?

    • I'd take this to replace my Asus mesh setup, but the easymesh from tplink is problematic.

      • Agree. EasyMesh but not easy at all! Ethernet Backhaul requires BETA firmware.

    • Those deco is worser than Archer. I have BE2200 and BE800 and compared them side by side. BE800 is way better in 2.4Ghz, 5GHz, and 6GHz.

  • I spent $50 after waiting 4 months for a good price on wifi 6 router. So might have to wait 4 years to upgrade to this.

  • Got the Be550 for 345$ wifi6e better (stable) than the axe75 but wifi 5ghz is surprisingly worse in terms of bandwidth, dont know why this is the case.

6e should have more penetration issues.

Someone at reddit pointed out it could be due to internal antennas

    • The AXE75 is trash, palmed it off to a family member.
The range was appalling. I would never touch a standalone router again. Mesh is the only worthy system. Unless of course you live in a small 1 bedroom apartment. I went back to my Nighthawk MK63 and couldn't be happier.

    • That wasn't refurbished from Amazon by any chance? Lost one that was in my cart 😀

      • Nah was from TGG
