ToolPRO 12V Rotary Tool Kit inc 2Ah Battery & Charger $35 + Delivery ($0 In-Store/C&C) @ Supercheap Auto

990

If you already have some Toolpro 12V tools, this entire kit is cheaper than purchasing an extra 2.0Ah battery $46.99 or 2.0Ah battery + charger kit $62.99. I got one of these kits for $50 during a 50% off sale a few years ago. I haven't used it too much but it has worked fine on the occasions that I did. The accessory kit is not as extensive as some. No rotating drum sanding blocks, for instance.

A smaller but still comparable option would be a Black & Decker 7.2V Cordless Rotary Tool Kit for $45 delivered with Onepass on Catch.

More comprehensive 276 piece accessory kit from SCA for $23.49 (regular price)

Features
6 different speed settings to suit a wide variety of tasks
50 piece accessory kit included with tool kit
Can be used on a wide variety of materials such as Plastics, Stone, Ceramic, Soft Wood, Metal, Hardwood and Steel
Built in battery capacity indicator
Includes: 1 x 2.0Ah Battery, 1 x Battery Charger
Built in battery capacity indicator
3 x Milling bits, 2 x Engraving bits, 5 x Grinding bits, 1 x Combination Spanner

    any ozito equivalent?

    • They did have a 12v cordless rotary tool but it used the bulkier slide-on type battery and I think is discontinued now.

The Ozito PXC Rotary Tool Station is probably the closest one they offer, but with a permanent flexi shaft. https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-cordless-rotary-to…

      • wow I didn't even know this existed.i was all ready to get the Ryobi one and get a battery adaptor for my Makita batteries. anyone have one of these and can vouch for it?

        • +3

I picked one up a couple weeks ago, it's decent but this is my first time using any rotary tool. The flexi shaft is a bit rigid and makes getting the right positioning more of a hassle than what i imagine using one without the flexi shaft. On the upside it's lighter to hold since the battery is on the station. It's louder than I expected.
It's handled everything I've used it for so far, cutting and sanding plastic, sharpening blades, cutting steel. It's comes with a good assortment of bits. For cost I'd buy it again, very handy.

I had a 909 similar to the toolpro and now i have the ozito 18v one mentioned above. Love the ozito as there is less weight in the hand and with the small handle lets you get into tighter spaces. I was waiting for stock of the ozito to come out for about 3 months before it hitting the stores and me getting one. Love it.

      • +4

A permanent flexi shaft isn't ideal, imo. Definitely times when a rigid shaft is preferable.

    • Kinda. There's this: https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-3-6v-cordless-chain-and-bl… (I use it to sharpen the lawn mower blade) and https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-3-6v-lithium-ion-cordless-… (basically the same thing, but with more accessories although no sharpener guide - have it because I got it on special). At 3.6V they are pretty weedy, but I do like the fact that they charge using a standard micro usb (sadly not usb-c) cable rather than having yet another dedicated dock.

For the price of the thing when not on sale, I'd lean towards the Dremel if you can get that at a decent price as there are so many different accessories available for it.

Sold! Good deal OP. I have quite the collection of Toolpro 12V gear now lol. All at similar clearance pricing mind you.

    • cant find stock in qld but if anyone can thats a bargain.

      • Angle grinder is cheap too at $25, but likewise can't find any stock close to me, also no delivery available.

I have killed one of these (it was replaced under warranty). I have a cordless Dremel too. I really wanted to consolidate around the Toolpro 12V system, but this particular tool is pretty pathetic (it's not very powerful and I found it to stall on fairly easy tasks).

    • +1

So the cordless dremel is significantly better?

      • +1

Yes, significantly - this is not a particularly enjoyable tool to use, given a tool has a job to do. The Dremel does whatever is asked of it without complaining.

        • Even light cutting/polishing?

I have a corded dremel and a corded cheap ozito rotary tool. Was hoping this would be ok for light work when I CBF finding an extension cord.

Please note this is note a nose hair trimmer, I too was fooled and am now In the hospital…..

Commiserations Tez, get well soon. It's also not an earwax cleaner or hemorrhoid remover in case you're still adventurous when you're discharged.

      • I am imagining Terry wandering around their house, spotting an item and wondering "Shall I put this inside myself? Yes, yes this is a good idea".

        • Ozbargainers tend to like others testing things out for them but that's taking the old saying 'don't knock it until you've tried it' a bit too far.

Good sense of humour has our TJT

  • Good for trimming dogs nails?

    • Black and decker via amazon have one specifically for dogs nails and accepts other attachments.

$31.50 using combank card code. Good deal.

      10% off well done

    • +1

      Which one

    • Can you please explain how this works?

      • +2

If you bank with cba then go into the app, then yello section, then scroll and find the SCA 10% off deal. Copy the code and enter it in the discount code section when checking out if SCA.

If you don't bank with cba then this will not apply to you.

    • Nice. The CBA Yello code is not meant to work on sale items. I had the SCA offer as well but disappeared from the app today just when I needed it, must have expired.

Don’t buy a rotary tool without a flexi. I guess you can buy a flexi after, but always cheaper as a combo and guaranteed to fix.

    • what is flexi?

      • +1

        This 💪

      • +3

        I think they're talking about this: https://imgur.com/a/pc6VDs9

I got this ages ago at Bunnings on sale. The battery and charger aren't in the case. Now I'm going to spend all day looking for it.

Flexible shaft that allows for better accuracy and smaller so you can reach tight places. Pretty much the only way to drill holes at corners. I had fit a corner bracket to a shelf just yesterday, it saved me from having to take it apart.

      • I don’t know if it’s good value or brand, but yes, that’s what you want. You might want to get some good collet later depending on how much you use it.

      • Thanks, I just ordered this since the ToolPRO one has no stock in any store close to me.

  • Just wondering Is this kit can do polishing?

  • I paid $85 for this last week

      Chill daddy

      Credit incoming if sca member…

      • +3

I checked no credit so far. I'll buy one and refund the other

  • Thanks OP, ordered, will see if gets cancelled like every other SCA order I've done! This time showing in stock not low stock so hopeful!

    • I've done a click and collect and just picked them up.

  • Nice one OP. Absolute bargain at this price.

  • I have this and it's good. Can't use it in all cases, but I also have a corded flex one as well.

Such a good price I just bought a second!

I have been waiting for what feels like 2 years for the mini grinder/ mini recip saw to come down to a decent bargain though…

  • Got the Certa 170W for $30 and the Detroit 130W for $20 but this is battery even though it seems a lot less powerful ~24W.

  • thanks Op. got one.

  • I've had one for a couple of years. Good tool, but need big hands (I have XL) or a flexi adapter.

  • I ordered and it's ready to collect

    • Managed to score one too. Ready for collection.

  • Ordered one! Been using a corded Dremel one for the last 18 years that just won't die!

Wasn't worth the 60min return drive to the nearest store that had stock so paid $11.99 for delivery. Hopefully it will be processed.

  • +1

Does this one support a flexi-shaft?

  • +1

To the guys that miss out if there's no stock I'm returning my full priced one then you seagulls can fight for the last one

  • What is this? Like some kind of cordless dremel or grinder?

    • Yes. Dremel also has cordless 12v and 7.2v versions of their rotary tools.

  • +1

For $35 I bought one for a spare battery :D and the tool is an extra bonus.

  • Want this but not sure why i need this… what do people use them for?

    • +1

After 5 of my 7 expensive Makita Batteries sh!ting themselves in a week after 26 months of careful use, not completely depleting them and keeping them out of the sun and hot situations, am going to start buying toolpro stuff, easy to return under warranty etc and better then Ozito from my research so far (certain Ozito tools have let me down time and time again, some have been good)

  • I think my dentist uses this.

  • can I use this for removing grout??
