The link below is the regular listing of the hotel on wotif. The rates are clearly cheaper in the mystery hotel deal. The room I got is a twin room for which the cheapest price is $165.00. So I am guessing $119.00 is a bargain.

Still a bargain, and obviously just FYI to anyone wanting a very cheap room in Darling Harbour.
    Thanks OP

Thanks for the tip off. $119 is a really good price.

There's also a bargain in the fact that we don't have to waste a lot of time trying to figure out the identity of the mystery hotel.

  • This is the hotel's web page for further info about facilities, location and room types. I am going to Sydney tomorrow for a meeting and was looking for cheap (yet decent) hotel accommodation and bit the bullet on this deal guessing that it would be Sheraton Darling Harbour as my meeting venue is a 5 minute walk away from the hotel. Turned out that I was correct with my guess.

    Wow! Sheraton! Posh!

This is NOT a Sheraton. The only Sheraton in Sydney is the Sheraton on the Park. This is a "Four Points by Sheraton", which is a few rungs below Sheraton in terms of amenities.

That said, I've stayed in this Four Points several times, and it's one of the better ones in the world - especially if you score a harbour view room.

lol I'm curious as to how you managed to guess that it was the Sheraton Darling Harbour? There's virtually no details except for the 4.5 star rating?

    • Haha. Key points in my guess and narrowing down my search from both the descriptions (normal one and the mystery one):

      1. It was a 4.5 star self rated hotel, not AAA rated hotel.
      2. I was looking at deals yesterday and found that their twin rooms were down to $165.00 and this mystery deal was not available on wotif yesterday. I checked again this morning and found this mystery deal on wotif.
      3. Going by the 'INTERNATIONAL 4.5 star hotel in the CBD', I took a punt and proved to be correct.

too bad no new year eve room :(

  • I just stayed here for 1 night. I suggest you pay with cash if you can as there's a 1.5% credit card surcharge that they do not mention. A walk to an ATM is not worth $3.00 to me.
