Postpaid "Mini" $5.99/Month Mobile Plan (with $5.99/Month PAYG Credit) for $1/Month for The First 3 Months @ E.Tel Mobile

120

This is currently the cheapest way to port out and back in to something like Boost. It's also the cheapest way to park a number for 3 months, or get a temporary number for 3 months as a secondary SIM on the Optus network.

Each month, you get $5.99 worth of credit to use at the PAYG rates which are cheap for $1 a month, e.g. the data is the cheapest PAYG rate available in the country. Rates are:

  • Data $0.01/MB
  • Standard national calls $0.01/min
  • SMS $0.25/sms
  • Int'l calls from $0.10/min
  • $0.25 flagfall applies to all calls

Tip: There's no port out fee when you port in your number. There is a port out fee IF you create a new number with ETel, so if you're getting a new number, treat it as disposable after the 3 months and end it.

Your first monthly fee and all your service inclusions are adjusted on a pro-rated basis (proportionally) depending on the remaining days of your service start month.(e.g. If you join on the 26th of August, your first month's charge, data allowance and allowance for included services is multiplied by 6/31 (6 = remaining days in August, 31 = total days in August).

Any excess usage over the included value will be billed at the end of the current month.

25c flagfall, what a blast from the past.

    • the $12 for 6GB monthly deal seems good, is there anything similar with another provider under $10?

      • If you have cba and spend 30+ transactions this month, you will get their plus tier cba yello, which will offer you MORE Sim for $9/month for first 12 months. Also, it's Telstra network.

    • After 20 x 5min calls per month - you're paying!
That's with no data usage or SMS.

      • Or three calls to centrelink over close to nine hours total. Mostly on hold.

Wow!. 1800 numbers are charged as standard calls.

    • I use to make money every month when Telstra use to refund the flagfall when the call dropped out and you rang the person back within a certain time frame.

  • Has anyone actually used them? I’ve run out of courage to try random providers since the $1 ezysim deal.

It says in the T's and C's - 4. $20 SIM activation fee applies to all month-to-month plans when applying via our dealers

    That's not worth it.

I am now avoiding all post-paid deals as the amounts charged could be anything and that could easily destroy my credit rating.

    Postpaid - so credit check?

  • Do they offer e sims? Can one post pone the port in date? Can you activate it if your currently overseas travelling.

Is 3G available for this plan?

    • YES. Until September, unless extended by Govt regs.

When customers are not within a 4G coverage area or their mobile handset is not 4G compatible, the mobile service will automatically switch over to 3G

given this will only laat a few days before running out, you're better off porting out to either a usable plan for a few dollars more, or a $2 sim.

    • Please advise how to port out to a $2 sim without incurring the obligatory recharge.
