Sony Pulse 3D Wireless Headset White/Black $59 (in-Store Only) @ Officeworks

570

Original deal Thanks to @tebbybabes

Clearance on the black started at $79 but now looks to be $59.
Upon messing with the product codes, found that the White should also scan at that price. (based on nrby, best to call store prior to making the trip should it not).

  • how's the mic on these?

    • It's one of the issues reviewers pointed out. It's subpar.

    • +9

reviewers…phhh!!! Have this in white and my son has it in black. Mic is great when we play games together on our individual consoles, clear and crisp, no issues at all. Comfy headphones too and great sound quality.

      • +5

agreed, mic is clear and crisp on mine as well.

      • I did get one at that price before it was posted. I do try to be more critical when reviewing items I own. Comfy, I honestly don't think it is that great. I tried it for about an hour and already starting to feel a bit uncomfortable. I have other headsets which are more comfy.

On Windows, you cannot control the volume from Windows or keyboard (as pointed out by reviewers) and that is annoying. You can only control it from the headset. Obviously, it is designed mainly for PS5. I think my expectation was too high on Pulse 3D. It's good, but not as good as I expected on PS5. While I am glad I only paid $59 for it, I am not sure that I am entirely happy about the purchase.

Mic is good, I use mine for work.

  • Wonder if these are good enough for an upgrade from cloud stinger wireless gen 1. Was waiting for a Pulse Elite deal but the $60 price tag is tempting me

  • +5

No stock anywhere but out in whoop whoop. Saved me $59 at least

Fitting value for a mediocre product.

    • +2

I dont see anything wrong with this comment. 🤷‍♀️ its simply saying the price is right (in the deal) because the product is average.

      • +2

Yup, people deserve better from a trusted brand.

    • Definitely mediocre!

  • Thanks OP. Picked up one each in black and white. One Black left in Bayswater in Vic.

I've heard a lot of complaints about these PlayStation headsets. They're not cheap, but have serious issues. Which is frustrating because the PS5 doesn't allow connection through other headsets (eg/ Sony XM5 won't connect).

  • OOS at Punchbowl, NSW

Checked with staff for 5 minutes, looked for it myself for 15

    • Is this for the black one that shows 4 in stock using stock checked? I’m about to head there nyself

      • Yup, but there's none there

  • Will this work well with Teams meetings/calls?

  • Got one, thanks

These are uncomfortable if you wear glasses. They'll start to hurt after an hour.

    • -6

that's not a fact, it sounds like your opinion or own experience…I wear glasses with these on, haven't had any issues in years.

      • +3

        Okay. Sorry.

        • +4

Why are you sorry my guy? It’s perfectly ok to share your opinion. You didn’t mention that it was a fact.. I for one have sensitive ears so these probably won’t suit me too..

          • +2

@PriceSensitive: I don't know. It felt like an attack. It probably wasn't. Hard to tell with plain text in a forum.

Anyway, yes, that was my experience. I used it once, then went back to my old Arctis headset.

            • +2

@BadGiraffe: you are alright, hope you don't feel offence .. I checked and found from PCmag, "Uncomfortable fit for people with large ears". I have big ear and will perhaps pass on this.

previous deal comment state "DryScissors on 27/03/2024 - 13:21new
These gave me sore ears and I don’t have a big head". he has big ear perhaps :)

              • @Ryoon: You have a big ear? Is the other one normal size?

              • @Ryoon: I just tried them on again today. They're trying to be over-ear, but I still feel parts of my ears pressing against the cushion.

My Arctis cups however fit comfortably over my ears.

          • @PriceSensitive: Just a poor choice of words, would have been fine if you said "I find these uncomfortable…"

        • +1

You're a good giraffe and you don't have anything to be sorry about.

Super sensitive Superman, on the other hand

          • @GrueHunter: Hahah! Thanks. He's alright too. Years ago, I made a comment here that didn't mean anything but people took it the wrong way. It happens.

But yes, I hate confrontations, so if I offended anyone, I tend to just apologise and forget about it.

      • Didn't neg you. However, I don't wear glasses and I do find Pulse 3D start to hurt after an hour too.

    • +1

I changed the earpads on these from ones off Amazon and they're much better now when I wear my glasses with them.

  • Got the last one in Darwin. Thanks for posting this OP.

  • Ahhh ive been waiting for these to go on sale! But 1.5hr drive…..not sure its worth it. Time, fuel… i could just wait till $99 at local

  • 3D Pulse, or 3D printed? Looks kind of plasticy

    • +2

I returned mine, its a cheaply made product and feels just like it looks.

  • That site said there’s one in Canberra but the store says there isn’t FYI.

  • Just picked one up at Officeworks Vermont South (VIC), so there are still some floating around! Thanks OP

    • Any more left in Vermont South?

      • +1

Was the last one. It was the sole unit for them on the tracker: https://nrby.in/officeworks/ps5hst3dbk and was subsequently removed after I purchased it. Looks like South Melbourne still has one, give them a call and quote the SKU (ps5hst3dbk) over the phone to get them to check.
