    This much for a bucket?!

That's what I was thinking. Was expecting to see it filled with a sponge, car wash etc..

Might as well go to bunnings for their 20L bucket, only $7.73

Autobarn has the bucket combo with wash mits, grit guard etc although only 15L

        • Autobarn deal is good, 15l is fine for most uses.

Depending on the vehicle age etc, anyone using a mit with a "mesh surface for scrubbing off tougher dirt and grime" on their duco woud probably be better advised to get someone else to wash and protect their vehicle.

          • @Igaf: I picked up the autobarn combo mainly for the bucket and grit guard, already have a microfibre mit.

I would probably use that mesh wash mit as a dedicated rim or exhaust cleaner

Buy 2 buckets from Bunnings 1 to rinse your mit and the second with clean grit free water with car wash and boom. Your still saving.

    • Repco logo cost.

      • LOL, and $25 is consider discounted price….

      Dirt guards are min $10

      • Can get two 26cm grit guards for $16 delivered from AliExpress

FWIW, I do use these, although I didn't pay anywhere near this much from memory. I find the Wash and Rinse stickers actually pretty useful. On the other hand though, the screw top lid stops water draining out of the bucket when you're finished and it's upside down - I have to dry out the bucket with my Big Green Sucker. Next time I'll probably just get something from Bunnings.

Am I missing something? A $25 bucket is a deal?

  • Bucket, Screw Lid and grit guard. Decent price, buckets are tall and high quality. ATL is $15.

  • How do these compare to Bowden's Own buckets?

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/186206118037

    • I have the Bowdens. Paid around $30ish at the time and its great, the buckets themselves are very solid but the label on the buckets has come off after a year though.

      • Thanks, I grabbed them. The snake oil of the cyclone grit guard got me.

        • They're very basic grit guards. If you want better https://www.waxit.com.au/products/detail-guardz-dirtlock-was…

          • @Igaf: I did consider those. But then it's a PITA to find buckets that fit them perfectly. Without a snug fit you won't really see the benefit.

            • @iMagoo: I don't have one (would buy at current price except for high postage) but that fits 27cm buckets (pretty standard) and has a rubber seal according to the video. Looks much better than the open ones.

  • I'm so glad you posted this, my Bunnings bucket is apparently incompatible with my new Meguiers Car Wash™ from yesterday.

    • I'm not surprised unless a dirt guard magically jumped into your Bunnings' bucket, although I think Bowdens Own products are more likely to scream out 'I have a headache' when confronted with gritty wash water.

  • Somehow lost the lid to mine but can't justify $12 just to replace the lid.
